Fox News is currently criticizing Biden for trying to cure cancer. That is not a joke, they are literally criticizing him for suggesting that cancer could be cured.

What about cancer's right to life?

We live in Bizarro world with the right on both sides of the Atlantic and don't get me started on politics around the world. That way leads to madness.

There's been 115 SC justices in the United States. 108 have been White men. They can't stand that things are changing; it scares them down to the marrow. They're deflecting hard by calling the nomination "racist".
I hate to break it to you Whilry, but Uncle Phil is dead.

Biden set to release up to 1 million barrels a day from oil reserve to tame gas prices

President Joe Biden is preparing to order the release of up to 1 million barrels of oil per day from the nation’s strategic petroleum reserve, according to two people familiar with the decision, in a bid to control energy prices that have spiked as the U.S. and allies have imposed steep sanctions on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine -snip

YouTube video Politics aside, Biden does look silly.

😂

Sure, but at least he never told people to try and inject themselves with disinfectant.

According to the Right, Biden is both China's puppet and is now trying to start a war with China.

Reason: Biden was asked if the US would defend Taiwan if China attacked and he said yes.

The reality being, it's about semiconductors, especially the most advanced. Taiwan accounts for the majority of the world's market here.

Yeah whereas Biden would accidentally inject himself, Trump would purposely inject himself.

Biden called on Congress to act now, he proposed:

Bans on assault weapons reinstated

Bans on high capacity magazines

(If those weapons aren’t banned) Age to purchase them should be raised to 21 from 18, like we have with alcohol and tobacco

Strengthen background checks, including requiring them at gun shows and online sales

Safe storage and red flag laws

Repeal the immunity that protects gun manufacturers from liability

Actions to address mental health, including more school counselors and other mental health services for students and teachers
Democrats could pass these in the House fairly easy, but would need some Republicans to cross party lines in the Senate, I doubt they'd get more than one or two on any of the points. Nothings going to change, ammophiles need t stop whinging.

I also think he needs to address student ostracised, incels, the far right too, but it's a good start.

*ostracision.

Nothing's going to change, Republican Senators don't want to risk their NRA/gun lobby payments, they're scared of losing power, and frankly, they're probably a little scared that some Rightist will shoot them should they cross party lines and bans start happening.

Remember, after the 2012 Sandy Hook mass shooting, the top execs at the NRA were caught expressing fears over their own members:

Tapes: NRA Called Its Members "Hillbillies" and "Fruitcakes"

In the immediate aftermath of the Columbine High School massacre in April 1999, the leaders of the National Rifle Association gathered on a conference call to discuss damage control and their upcoming conference in Denver, set to take place just miles away, and days after the deadly shooting.

NPR obtained tapes of that call and revealed their contents on Tuesday in a bombshell report. On the tapes, senior leaders at the NRA can be heard describing their most loyal and activist members as "hillbillies" and "fruitcakes" that the organization needed to be guarded against.

Thirteen people lay dead at a high school in Colorado. More than 20 were injured. Images of students running from the school were looped on TV. The NRA strategists on the call sounded shaken and panicked as they pondered their next step into what would become an era of routine and horrific mass school shootings.

"Everything we do here has a downside," NRA official Kayne Robinson says on the tapes. "Don't anybody kid yourself about this great macho thing of going down there and showing our chest and showing how damn tough we are. We are in deep shit on this deal. And so anything we do here is going to be a matter of trying to decide the best of a whole bunch of very, very bad choices."

They are fruitcakes.

You're right, it's not going to get passed because Republicans live cushy lives and don't care about these social problems. Nor do they want to pay tax.

I recall the Columbine shooters did so because they hate the NRA and all we got from it was a crappy Michael Moore film.

I don't recall Harris or Klebold blaming the NRA for the shooting?

I recall they wanted to commit the biggest mass murder in US history, they they initially had intended to use bombs, but when that failed they went to guns.

No, the story was they wanted to cause a big massacre because of the NRA's bullshit about having guns everywhere.

I mean, these assholes blamed violent video games like DOOM but not the availability of firearms.

Penn and Teller did a Bullshit episode on this where they took an 11 year old who likes playing GTA and COD to learn how to use a real fire arm to kill a squirrel, which he did. Spoiler alert, he cried. 😐

the point was the ease in which they aquired the weapons. groups like the nra helped make it easy, and have only made it easier since then.

You still feel the same? He’s a ****ing failure and so is his administration.

^ His popularity is sinking for sure.

They should stop screwing over Bernie every time. Democrats seem to think that Biden was the safe bet to beat Trump, but there's no point in just kicking Trump out to let him back in 4 years later.

Bernie would have been a secure victory. After 4 years of him giving back to the people, there's no way his popularity would sink like this and no way he'd be voted out next election.

But that's the past, Biden needs to step up with some radical reforms via executive orders to win people back. Reforms which help people of course. And yes he needs executive orders. Quit acting like he can't do anything because of Joe Manchin.
