Erm, yeah it was. Once you changed tactics and invaded North Vietnam it was clearly to subdue the North and 'liberate' the country like you tried to do with Korea.Your soldiers got traumatised, but not as much as the entire ****ing region.
That's about as truthful as claiming Trump separated families at the border and kept kids in cages.
It ignores or distorts the context of what was happening, and why.

You Trumpers are still trying to spin Trump's deplorable border policies, not surprising. It was the Trump admin's policy to separate kids from parents as an ultimate deterrent and f**k you to immigrants crossing illegally. It was investigated:
Judiciary Committee Releases Report on Trump Administration Family Separation Policy
Today, the House Judiciary Committee released the findings of its 21-month investigation into the development and execution of the Trump Administration's family separation policy, which resulted in more than 2,500 migrant children becoming unnecessarily separated from their parents. -snip

Rob, we've been over this.
A law existed, not put in place by the Trump administration, that made it impossible to lock up kids with adults for the time it took to do the background checks.
So what would you have had them do? Turn them away at the border? Let them in without a check?
The only other option, the way I see it, is separated kids and adults.
But again, what would you have had them do?
It was invested thoroughly and I posted a link to the investigation above, no amount of your spinning will alter reality. Trump's policies were draconian and meant as the ultimate deterrent, "you come over, we take your kids". Stop being deplorable for once.
The solution was simple enough: Don't separate kids from their parents (unless there's clear signs of abuse). You can keep parents along with their own children in separate housing units as has happened before Trump and is happening after.
Crossing illegally is a misdemeanor under US law: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/8/1325
Over 2,500 kids were separated from their parents over what amounts to a $50.00 to $250.00 penalty fee their parents committed.
Originally posted by cdtmThat's not even comparable. The gulf of Tonkein incident was when a U.S. cargo ship was sunk in North Vietnam waters, sparking the draft.

You may be thinking, "they only fought at the border," but no. Special forces were fighting in North Vietnam and Nixon dropped Napalm and bombs on the North for the marines to ambush what was left. I mean, have you seen Apocolypse Now, The Deer Hunter or Full Metal Jacket?
I brought up Korea because the capture of Seoul is what stopped the South from losing and could have easily won the whole peninsula had China not been involved.
With Justice Stephen Breyer retiring after 27 years on the SC, Biden will get at least one SC nomination in his first term. The Right is flipping.
Expect Mitch McConnell to try and block with his on/off only-when-it-is-convenient reasons.

The Rino is retiring, at a suspiciously opportune moment for the lefties.
This just proves even if they went after Roe vs Wade it wouldn't be successful, because of socialists in capitalists clothing like this reprehensible judge.
It's "RINO", an acronym. "Rino" is an animal, dumdum. Your meltdown over this is mildly amusing though.
Roe Vs Wade isn't going away, the best women-controlling Rightist can hope for is stricter abortion rights laws in certain states, so long as they don't interfere with the Constitution, but the new laws in states like Texas do and will be struct down in time.

I hear there's an island with a big mansion going spare where lots of unaccompanied kids and lots of adults have been known to frequent in the past. The previous owner no longer has use for it. I also here some ex presidents already know about it so it should be easy for them to arrange.

Believe it or not, the economy grew last year at the fastest pace since 1984
Last year saw the fastest economic growth since Ronald Reagan was president. But for many people, 2021 felt less like "Morning in America" and more like a restless night, dogged by fitful dreams about the ongoing pandemic.
The Commerce Department reported Thursday that the nation's gross domestic product grew 5.7% last year - the biggest increase since 1984. But the growth arrived in fits and starts, with hopes for a steady recovery repeatedly dashed by successive waves of infection. -snip
