The overall inflation has fallen because of gas prices. And arguably it should have fallen more. However, people are still paying much more for services;

Service inflation has become more problematic
Price increases for services like dry cleaning, haircuts and transportation have been one of the top contributors to overall inflation this year and last. But the magnitude of their contribution has drastically increased.The 5.7% 12-month increase in the cost of services last May accounted for 41% of inflation at the time, according to CPI data.
Since then, services have become more expensive, costing 6.3% more in May of this year compared to May 2022. That alone accounted for 84% of the inflation Americans experienced.

I watch Rightwing news at times just to see, they make it seem like there's breadlines in every city. They need the image that the country is in the worst state possible.

Thing is, this investigation started n 2018 while Trump was president, if the DOJ really had something more damning, they could have moved on it. But it seems like the 2018 investigation was only started for the reason to hurt Joe Biden, whom they thought would be the most likely Democrat to win the presidential nomination.
That's effectively Trump weaponizing the DOJ under him to attack his future political rival.
