Abortion is killing another human and yet you support that. Leave our guns and our Bibles the hell alone, dude.

We need less gun control , not more.

Abortion is for the mother to decide, not your stupid book that talks about talking snakes, dragons etc.

and guns are dangerous.

and I think voter id is necessary, but not if it's racially motivated.

The so-called loophole you speak of is one private citizen selling private property to another private citizen. The comparable thing would private citizens voting in a private contest. Once you bring the government into it, it's no longer comparable.
the state government is already involved. They're the ones that the decide gun sale id laws for each individual state. The comparable thing would to be to let the voter id laws be decided on the same state level.

The state government is not involved in private gun sales.

You shouldn't sell a gun to someone with a bad history.

Like take Anders Brevik or that aspergers virgin guy from California.

Don't give them guns. Now, if we had a sensible background check like, say, voter ID, so lunatics don't have guns to avoid massacres, then yeah. Makes sense to me.

Are you saying people should have to go through a background check before they can get a voter ID?

I'd say get voter id first, that'd make it easier wth the background check.

Voter ID is not racist, period.

Could you conceive of a scenario where voter ID could be racist?

Yes.

If certain races were excluded from getting Voter ID.

Thankfully, ID is available to everyone.

You've convinced me, to be fair we should add restrictions to voting in order to bring it in line with what is required to exercise other rights.

Were you under the impression that all rights are absolute and not subject to regulation? It is right there in the amendment you pretend to care about.

It's not necessarily racist or wrong per se, but the myriad of other tactics to suppress the vote are definitely anti-democratic...

Perhaps you should re-read the amendment

It sounds good it theory but it fails in practice. Let me give some easy example that have documented history.

1. Someone can be model citizen for 40 yrs but 1 day he finds out his wife cheating on him with a guy that works with her. He goes off and shoots half the office trying to kill the guy whose banging his wife.

2. some kid gets pick on in school and steals a gun from his father collection and goes to school and do his best Rambo impression.

3. Criminals don't usually buy guns from legit store or gun shows so no matter what laws you pass they'll bypass it.

What else was I supposed to say considering you obviously didn't understand what the amendment says

You are supposed to address that the same amendment that guarantees a right to bear arms, also requires that it be regulated. You know, while you cry about it being regulated.
