You have to wonder what this debacle has demonstrated to ACTUAL terrorists that during a session where both houses are sitting and the full legislature is there, that it is unbelievably easy to just waltz in and cause that much chaos. What if they were there to fire on senators and congressmen or detonate IEDs?

I agree with most of the outrage said here about what happened. I don't necessarily think all who stormed inside deserved to be shot dead (only if they were visibly armed would I go along with that), but they should have shot more to intimidate them back, tasered them, tear gas etc.
It's how lax they were in dealing with them that was most disturbing. After seeing how peaceful BLM protestors got treated in the summer - this was the most blatant example of systemic racism in the police, and evidence of white power and privilege. Barack Obama was in power just four years ago, and somehow America has backslided decades in race relations. All thanks to Trump, Trumpism and the GOP embracing the lunatic far right fringe.
Did Trump really think this would end some other way?
