Diehard Trek fan here (if that wasn't obvious) and I thought the first film was great. Also loved that they used an alternative branch timeline, so they'd not be bound to ST canon, unless they wanted.

Last I heard of them was when Gunn posted that image of Krytpo the superdog, and the Snyder edgelords were posting a bunch of anti-animal rhetortic like saying they should have the dog eat chocolate (I doubt that would kill a superdog though like it would a regular dog), etc.
It would help if the Snyder people just got deprogrammed and brought back into the fold at some point, although I suspect they're the definition of vocal minority.

Ha! I think I defended it. Thought it has some redeeming qualities. But tbf that was after complaining like mad before it's release that the film itself (and the supposed JL1 and JL2 to follow both by Snyder) was a mistake.
That said I actually really like the Snyder Cut JL.

Synder cut while too long and there's definitely stupid not needed scenes (eg women singing for 3-4 minutes because they already miss Arthur's dick), is a kinda fun film. The 4:3 format is lame though, FU Synder for that.

Far as Man of Steel, I recognized its faults straight off, but liked it just enough in the hopes that Cavill's Superman would grow and develop into the hero everyone knows, but as we all know that didn't really happen, and the rest is history.
Looks like the trailer for Gunn Superman comes out tomorrow but guess while I'm here, will say that I mostly agree with this guy on Tyler Hoechlin getting to be probably the best live action Superman since Christopher Reeves. Doomsday and others getting to be done mostly right in his recently ended show was nice too.
