Superman (2025)

I’ll give this movie a shot, since it’s the beginning of the new DCU, but, tbh, this movie kind of looks like shit, and the creators aren’t saying anything to change my mind.

Sounds like it's good/fun, but not epic. And a few outright negative reactions.

If reflective of what audiences think, not sure that'll be enough to save DC.

Always bizarre when people who proclaim themselves to be comic book fans are so obsessed about making comic book movies fail. It's bad enough when it's between the usual Marvel/DC but when it's fans of a specific character wanting that character's movie to fail because it's a different director. That is wild.

But there also seems to now be an entire industry around making content about watching movies and shows the creators know they're going to hate.
Imagine creating a Youtube channel that becomes successful and that you become reliant on for your income and lifestyle that is almost entirely based of having to watch hours and hours of shows and movies you know you're not going to enjoy.

They're morons for sure, and likely incels.

I don't think they made it dark enough for supreme Snyder visionaries to appreciate.

Negativity about anything gets more traction on social media; just how it is. Outside of those terminally online folk and Snyder bots, the anticipation for this film is definitely there.

its like that group of tards hasn't picked up a Superman comic, His films are suppose to be colourful.

Oh for sure.

Just this needs to be good. Really good tbh. A lot riding on it. But we won't know how good it is until it's out - next week!

We didn't have a hardcore Snyder DC guy here did we?

Golgo wasn't, he was just Team DC movies. But man his arguments about the Synderverse box office were so bad.

Snyder trolls are going to review bomb this film relentlessly

Probably true. It probably won't get a fair shake.

Maybe the studio should promise to release a black and white version of the film when it streams before this hits the theaters.

Lex attacks the fortress of solitude, has some of the robots killed and the super dog has gone missing, and people are surprised at Superman having a negative emotional response?

Yes, I can see how it's such a "controversial" scene. The Snyder cult or something are saying that's not Superman, but I guess they forgot he was raised as a human to have human emotions even though he's alien.

Overall, Snyder bots will use this film as a political tool and probably say it's woke and this, that, and the other. Their attempts to cut down the film will likely be as bad as their usual arguments which will be all the more reason not to take them that seriously at the end of the day.

Snyder fans liked Rebel Moon though.

I did enjoy the Snyder cut of JL tbh. Vastly superior to the theatrical cut.

But hilarious WB spent like another $100 mill to make it after the original already flopped.

Rebel Moon was Seven Samurai in space and it had the makings of what should have been great, but we got turds.

Snyder did not understand superman

At all

Synder's better at comic films when he follows the source material closer compared than going with his own vision. 300 and Watchmen are both very good adaptations. Though I do think getting ride of the squid was a good idea for the live action movie, not sure if that was Synder or another writer.

I like MOS tbh. Sure it was a different take but they already tried the traditional type thing with Superman Returns which flopped.

MOS was divisive, but it's not where it all went wrong Imo.

For what it's worth I thought Henry Cavill got the character. And I think the intention was always for him to evolve into a more comic accurate depiction.

^^^Traditional Supes notwithstanding, Returns was just a bad movie imo.

MoS was just…dark.
Which is fine, i get we don't live in a lollipop kingdom.

Thing is, there was no contrast.

The world was dark. Krypton was dark. The villains were dark. Pa Kent was freaking dark.

Superman should have at least been the one bright spot, both figuratively and literally…

…in that movie.

How much more effective would BvS have been if Batman had been going after a Superman that -wasn't- just as dark as him.
