No, that isn't a steeotype. Massage parlors employ a lot of asians, and "happy endings" are a thing.

Less than 2% of the population of the U.S. is AAPI. So for all of the victims to be Asian women, he had to be targeting them specifically.

IQ it’s malleable both in a person and over the generations. Social circumstances and culture contribute a lot to a good result so it would be somewhat misguided to put too much stock into IQ. It also doesn’t measure a lot of aspects that may be valuable and we would be missing out on if we took it as our main determinant. That is similar to using GPA or SAT Score, they don’t give a particularly good picture of a student.

Or he knew to say that the race of the women he targeted had nothing to do with the murders and it was coincidence they're all Asian, as that would ultimately help him when it came to being convicted and sentencing if so.

His lawyer could have also advised him to say the race/racism had nothing to do with it, for the same reasons.

Fact is, both myself and style are making a pretty big assumption. I'm assuming he does his sex shopping in one place, and that one place happened to employ a lot of asian women.

While he's assuming the guys a general purpose deviant, and could shop wherever he wants and chose the place with asian women.

For my own part, I can only say I'm the latter in my general purpose consumer habits. I'll shop for games on Steam, deliveries on Amazon, do my grocery shopping at a single big chain, do my social drinking at a single brewery or two, and I won't really shop around much.

Western culture's fetishization of Asian female bodies is common knowledge, and well documented in scholarly and layman circles. They're often presented as willing sexual servants, especially for white men, all across our media. This is where the "me love you long time" caricature comes from, and these images become internalized so that you don't consciously realize they influence you. You add that to his already distorted views on women, and it's not hard to see how he wound up here. While I don't think seeking out sex workers is necessarily bad, he blatantly believes it's these womens' duty not to tempt him. The burden of regulating his sexual impulses are placed upon the victims, as their existence is close to sin in his eyes.

This IS a form of hate. It's certainly an intersectional moment, but he literally desires to eradicate an entire class of people.

The reality is that he traveled to entirely different cities to hit Asian massage parlors. You making some cute abstractions about gaming don't really change that.

As more details emerge, maybe the picture gets more complicated; however, sex addiction doesn't somehow negate an act of hate.
