Klaw is not actually a Conservative no matter how much he thinks he is. Of course he's not a leftist either. He seems to be a right-leaning libertarian like Rand Paul and Tomi Lahren (who also wrongly thinks she is a conservative). The same probably goes for Surtur.

I am probably the only one who is geuinely conservative who posts here in GD on a frequent basis. Not sure if Broly is actually conservative or not. Can't remember what his stance on abortion was. He's banned though just as Surtur so I guess it's irrelevant.

All the people mentioned above are definately on the right, but they are not conservatives.

Talk about bad takes. New York state in general, and New York City in particular, is a Democratic stronghold. Trump identified as a Democrat while living there as a strategy to advance his career. When he decided he had a better chance of acheiving his ambitions as a Republican, he switched parties. That is not evidence that the parties are the same, it is evidence that Trump has no ideology or pincicples, and will change whichever direction the political winds are blowing.

I mean I'm a 'leftist' who mostly disagrees with many other leftists here, I don't think it's as important about exact political alignment as opposed to certain interpersonal buddyness. Have you ever been to a meeting of people of the 'same' political alignment? Constant disagreement. They just (usually) agree that they aren't their opponents.

I'm still not saying whether I think KMC is a left-wing echo chamber because honestly it depends on the day, but right now? I've had convos where I've agreed and disagreed with someone within the same conversation, so that's good enough with me. I'm not a fan of constant agreement or disagreement. I prefer the conversation to be mixed, and civil.

Why assume Trump is somehow a unique opportunist?

It's not like there isn't ample examples of Democrat power players walking back lines they said in the past that are now being said by Republicans. Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, and Barrack Obama have said such things.
