All of human life is characterised by suffering. So my life is better here than many other countries, sure, doesn't mean "first-world" countries should be exempt from criticism. That was my point from the start. So the UK isn't yet at the point where gay and trans people are being murdered en mass just for being who they are — that's not a plus, it just isn't a negative. Still plenty about Britain, the US, Europe and everywhere else to be criticised.
