Aquaman vs Thor

No hammers, no weapons. They fight underwater.

Who takes this?

I think Thor could knockout Aquaman but die from overstrain in the process.

does aquaman has comparable physical strength?

if tp is allowed this fight can get interesting

Thor would struggle to tag Aquaman and eventually run out of air which is apparently an issue for him.

Nothing on par with “moving the 9 realms” don’t know the context to that. I don’t know the calcs about the World Serpent either but assuming it’s planetary and shaking the planet is above Aquaman’s physical strength.

His best strength feats so far are stopping an attack that destroyed the biggest continent on the planet and sealing an oceanic trench.

If TP is allowed I could see Aquaman winning that way. What’s Thor’s striking power without Mljonir like?

that's another thing, Thor can't breath under water

....

Aquaman just needs to hold off long enough till he drowns

lmfao

The Midgard Serpent is all over the place in terms of size though.

More curious on how it weighs and how that would compare to a land mass like this

Arthur wins via choking him out and killing him, also he’s never going to tag him way too slow

Thor

Current Thor stomps. Regular Thor would win with some difficulty.

I'm not being a dick when I ask this, I'm genuinely curious: Has Thor had a lot of fights underwater? Does the lack of a hammer hamper him enough for it to be a problem?

I’m more curious about his striking power without mljonir. I didn’t even think about it but he’s pretty slow on land too, so I’d imagine trying to fight underwater wouldn’t help his combat speed at all.

That said he is still more durable and should be more stronger. So stay wise this is a bit interesting. Crossover wise Namor was struggling to tag Aquaman underwater I’d imagine it would be worse for Thor. No weapons doesn’t mean Aquaman can’t summon Krackens and other sea beast as well.

You're damn right about the speed.

Thor indeed is slow... and while I really don't care about Aquaman, I can't deny that Slade gave him props for his moves... and if anything, water only boosts Aquaman's reaction time and maneuverability.

While Thor can literally drown.

It’s rarely shown or even stated but Aquaman is actually
Faster and stronger on land. His maneuverability in water is probably better than most though if not all.

Interesting.

It makes sense though, what with water being denser than air

Sure. And he's not exactly Namor, who gets a huge power-up whenever in contact with any amount of water.

Both Namor and Arthur are known for their... "super-swimming", though, when they basically turn into a human torpedo underwater.

In Post-Crisis it was literally part of Aquaman's powerset that he got strengthened by water.

That's tricky. Sure, if we go by the mediums of air and water, it's obviously easier to throw a punch and move more quickly on land.

But if Aquaman was going to fight anyone, I would argue he'll almost always do better underwater than he would on land. He's faster underwater than most, and his best strength feat is still one that took place underwater. Plus, if post-crisis is still in effect, the constant hydration boost too.
