'The best deal with the Taliban.'

Nothing is forgotten, Nothing is ever forgotten.

President Joe Biden could make many rational points, without invoking "America is not the world police" philosophy.

We were late to enter World War II because of such beliefs. How many paid with their lives?

I won't say withdrawing troops were right or wrong, I simply reject the notion human atrocities are a partisan issue, or something that needs justifying. You are obligated to help people in matters of life and death, this is basic human ethics.

Trump has said Biden should resign in disgrace over the Afghanistan withdrawal.

But I thought Biden was the war monger ? And Trump the one who promised to get out of foreign countries ?

So confused.

The lesson the U.S. and the United Nations forces learned from Somalia was that going in to try to stop a war of genocide wasn't a simple issue. Many in Somalia wanted peace, but not enough to share it with members of that other rival clan, over there. We couldn't believe that could be true, but it was.

20 years in Afghanistan, it seems we were no closer to understanding what so many want, the populace is so badly fractured. Billions of dollars and years of Western training, and so many of the soldiers decided in the end not to fight.

Our best hope is that this is Taliban lite, that they will pull back a bit on their religious severity. That's the image they're trying to project now. But that could be a foolish hope.

The rnc deleted all the information about how Trump was the one who set the withdrawal date and released thousands of Taliban soldiers in an attempt to negotiate. He’s as much at fault as Biden is. But as usual trump is a coward and pretending otherwise. Really most of the blame should fall on Bush.

Jeez, I thought it would take the Afghan government at least a year to fold. Instead it took them a good week. Even I am amazed at the sheer uselessness and incompetence.

What do you think of Styx's opinion on Biden being at fault?

The question now is, what countries will support arms to Afghanistan?

The dancing boys must be working overtime tonight 😆

Sounds like an unsubstantiated rant.

Trumpers are butt hurt that Trump (after getting elected claiming to be all anti-foreign wars) didn’t fully withdraw from anywhere in 5 years.

Biden (the guy Trumpers fearmongered everyone that he will start new wars) has fully withdrawn from Afghanistan in his first year.

Ugh, a thread about Afghanistan has turned into‘Trump vs Biden’

It’s good news America is out of there, Afghanistan has been falling for the last 10 years. Biden ripped the band aid off which no one else has done, I’m sure it was a hard decision and people are mad but the Taliban had been making gains for years. Their own government is corrupt and they lined their pockets, their military is weak and feckless and won’t fight for themselves.

What’s going to be interesting to watch is China moving in, they been killing and jailing millions of muslims in their country for how long? I wonder if the Taliban is smart enough to realize that or if they are ignorant. That will be the interesting play here.

They say this will be a stain on Biden, I say it’s a good thing.

Everything does now, everything from He-man to whether or not a murderer deserves to go to jail.

Of course it has to do with Biden as he's the one whose withdrawn the troops.

As for Trump, he's involved himself into this.

Foolish drivel. Like Biden will resign over this, after just 7 months in office.
