A friend said to me, Afghanistan may be the end of the American Empire...

I personally don't see it as that, The American Empire has never just been about force projection. It is about financial projection at least as much.

He argued the sharks, China and Russia are circling. I don't see that either, the US and China will ever have the type of proxy wars the US and USSR had, both are capitalists.

Thoughts!

Agreed.

In comparison, the USSR's disastrous occupation of Afghanistan, with the help of the US supplying the Mujahideen (now terrorist) so they could fight back, ultimately helped break up the USSR.

It's estimated that war cost the USSR 2bil USD a year for 9 years, or about 8-14bil a year adjusted for inflation over the years. America's not in that position financially, we'll just keep rolling the debt over due to our leading economy.

weird thing is, the guy is serious rightist and he was relishing a US/west collapse. Very strange.

Rightist are self-loathing at heart.

twas strange.

Everyone wants the biggest guy to fall, I guess so their country can rise a rank.

Funny, a friend said to me that the socialists europeans have joined forces with Russia, China, and Saudi Arabia to destroy America from within, and the one hope is Conservative values in general, and Donald Trump in particular.

Brute-men, you are free! Thundercats hoooooooo!

According to your "friend's" logic, America would now be doomed. Trumpers are strange and pathetic 😂

Yeah and the way he thwarted their plan was to become best buddies with the Saudis.

That sneaky bugger.

Yup, to be fair he's a good guy and while never having been in Afghanistan was involved in the Iraq war in 1991. He works between Africa and the Middle East in Security, so it isn't like he has no knowledge of the problems. He's a good friend, I once got in first class on a flight between Dubai and Saudi because he saw me in Coach and the very important Arab he was with told me to sit up with them and squared my seat with the stewardesses🙂

He is a Trumper mind.

There is true validity to this statement.

Perhaps most people should question what they’ve been spoon-fed by news outlets and word of mouth. I doubt they will.

Some good points here, overall.

American Empire is about to end, true. This may be more abrubt than most people think, a friend of mine said.

Western Europe will follow to a lesser degree, China becomes numer 1 in the short to medium term, and Russia might be overhyped, my friend claims.

America still controls 24% of the entire world's economic muscle pow3r. That's considerably more than China's 17% and they have over a billion Chinese people doing stuff in China. It's been estimated that China could surpass the US between 2031 and never.

Russia has a paltry 1.8%. Granted, this is in part due to Putin fleecing his own country for 20 or so years, but even if he gave back all the wealth he stole from Russia, they'd still be paltry Cossack bastards.

In short, America's sway on the rest of the world isn't going away anytime soon, unless something drastic happens.

Edit: Tell your friend that Robtard said he's wrong. 🙂

I agree with this, but I think US and China will still have conflicts as both have different approaches to global capitalism, and both want to lead global capitalism. We could see further development of proxy wars as time goes on.

China will win. The future is Sino.

You snowflake losers are all disgusting to God.

He might be right, in a way.

“If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.” -- Samuel Adams

The time now for America is not to expand, or even to maintain its global power, but to fight for liberty domestically.

Death of the petro-dolar?

Anyways, depends on the time frame. I think this decade might be crucial.

I will. But his analysis has been proven right so far, so he may acknowledge your view, but prevail with his outlook.
