We see Thor shake and convulse like he's being shocked. It's stupid considering he's literally had lighting flowing throughout his body, but it is what it is.

Yeah, but keep in mind, the final battle with Hela was when he realized his true potential (thanks to Odin's mental coaching from Valhalla).
Yes, but he had lightning flowing through him at the end of the Hulk fight after he had a vision of Odin. In fact, lightning is coursing through his body when he gets KO'd by the shock from the disk. It's retarded. Thor's lightning, which can hurt even Thanos, is harmless to him, yet the shock from the disk KO's him with a jolt.
Pretty sure he reached his true potential for the first time there --- only it was a temporary boost, allowing him to recover from the beating, get up and deliver a powerful punch of his own, but that's it.
Later (versus Hela), Odin manifested via vision again and explained things to Thor, because he's like a kindergarten kid with severe learning difficulties.

I agree that he didn't reach his true potential until the end of the movie, but he visibly had lightning flowing through him at the end of the Hulk fight too, so it's funny that a shock knocked him out.

It does. As it's official as f*ck.
Its just a book man. Its not like Star Wars where official material is specifically stated to be canon.
