The MCU has too much influence

I've noticed how the MCU is having too much of an influence on marvels cartoons, video games, and comics. Marvel has been depending too much on making everything be inspired by their cinematic universe. It's getting old and very predictable to make everything inspired by the movies.

Don't worry. They're working very hard to make phase 4 exceptionally mediocre with a few to destroying the franchise altogether.

Marvel has to drop that MCU influence sooner or later.

Eh, he's not entirely wrong. At least one Marvel writer I know of has been told to write the characters to make them more like the movies. And I'm sure you can go back and see plenty of comics/games/cartoons that have tried to emulate the MCU more than past comics.

Like Jaden said though, Phase 4 will likely put a stop to that.

I've enjoyed Phase 4 so far. Really like Shang Chi and thought Blackwidow was fine. Haven't seen Eternals yet, but I have high hopes for Spiderman 3, Doctor STrange 2, Hawkeye's show and Thor 4.

Agreed. I've been pretty bored with and indifferent to most of it for a long time.

it seems like you dont think any media franchise should get too popular, and if they do, they are "overrated" or "have too much influence", lol.

Hollywood movies always had enormous influence --- it's not a new thing. It's not always a good thing and we don't have to like it, agreed, but that's how this business has always worked.

It's not mcu-only thing. Retro superhero films were doing the same thing.

Someone who pretends that always going against the grain makes them interesting or is a substitute for a personality.

I'm not saying they never had influence before. I'm saying that the MCU is having a bigger influence than movies did in the past, which I think is a fair comment to make.

We're dealing with an actual cinematic universe here, long-running and incredibly successful, so of course it is having a bigger influence.

DC produces turds... and those turds have a huge influence on their books, too.

McFarlane retconned his own work after that old Spawn film. As long as it's not a localized, low-budget film, it's gonna make the rules and get shoved down our throats without our consent and without making sure if we can breathe fine or if we suffocate on it.

So you... agree, then?

What did MacFarlane retcon from the film?

I might care if Marvel comics weren’t all shit.

Chapel's involvement in Simmons' death was retconned away hard.

Well, that's just disappointing. Though, I am used to you disappointing me, I suppose.

I agree that it does have a shitload of influence.

I don't agree that Phase Four will put an end to it.
