Gladiator vs Hercules

I'm totally not a fan of the "killer superman trope" because in order for it to work everyone else has to fight like an idiot instead of nuking first asking questions later.

I think it can work, you just need a good writer to pull it off and a sufficiently powerful Superman type.

Do you have an example?

The nuking part didn't work out so well:

Which makes no sense given the ko he's about to receive

Makes perfect sense, actually.

Mungiforce >>>>>> all nukes in the world.

I did say "good writer" so no, lol

Didn't they try nukes with the other Hyperion as well?

Which one?

There are so many, it's not even funny.

They should mimic the One with Jet Li and have all the other Hyperion's killed

Too many Hyperions.

Really? I’ve always thought that if Any given Hyperion version was handled properly, that it would’ve likely been a decent read. I’ve also been skeptical about the times that he’s jobbed to certain Marvel characters. It gave me the feeling that Marvel made those times happen as an attempt to drag Superman’s stock down. But maybe it’s just me.

I think two were well done. Ultimate Power Hype and bearded Thor bro Hype. Everyone else is trash and needs to be flushed. Every Superman analogue in Marvel is boring and have literally done nothing noteworthy

Could be Marvel's attempt to drive Supermans stock down, but I don't think anyone's going to take it seriously.

Not even Gladiator or Sentry?

Gladiator was cool in the 90s and only as result of the opening montage on X-Men TAS. He has decent design and a cool powerset but he's simply not interesting with zero arcs

Marvel ruined Sentry and he should have remained dead after Seige
