Ha. Well the points are good.
Following some Redditers just to learn their side of it. Between the sniping, they;
1. Actually read tax returns, in detail.
2. Know the laws inside and out.
3. Can cite specific crimes and provide evidence for them.
Some of that is probably simply reading partisan media, but other details point to either a bureaucrat, accountant, or someone in law or journalism. Could also be an armchair enthusiast I suppose.
One thing that kind of shocks me is how many on the left now are the exact opposite of hippies, e.g. they have no problem trusting in authority, provided said authority legitimately follows the laws of the land. They never seem to ask if said system is good or necessary.
Take advertising. They rightly claim you can't allow bigots on platforms if you want advertisers,.and talk about bottom lines. It's a very pro corporation kind of thinking, and sees no problems with rule by dollars and cents, or in treating human beings as nothing more than a cog in a giant business scheme.
While I would love to see Wall Street burn, and believe vile words are just that: words. A racist spouting conspiracies can be ignored. Someone who believes said theories is entitled to their opinions.
In my opinion, at least.
Another thing I saw that I could do without is the weird "Prove you aren't the idiot" competitiveness. A guy asked a simple question about whether tax returns were any real proof against taking bribes, and the respondent tore into him as though he was propping up the other side.
Maybe it was a kid who was genuinely ignorant? Maybe not all of us are business or law savvy? Maybe he wasn't a Trumper at all, and the "Because I'm educated and I say so" attitude will alienate the asker?
Does it all have to be a competition?
