WindDanncer> In a perfect world…
There would be no abortions, there would be no need for them, men would not walk out on their 7-month-pregnant girlfriends and leave single-mothers, employers would welcome pregnancies and not see them as costly affairs etc. etc. etc.
But this is NOT a perfect world.
“But isn't part of a women nature to bring life into our world?”
I can have children because I am a woman. I am not a woman because I can have children. Isn’t it part of mans nature to bring life into our world?
“The pain and all the emotion is part of experience a woman goes through during pregnacy. If it is unwanted then counseling is the best advice.” If the cluster of cells is unwanted then the woman, if she so chooses, should have an abortion, get her life straightened out, get an education or a job – find a nice man – and then have children.
“Abortion is NOT the only option for an unwanted pregnacy. The best solution to avoid an unwanted pregnacy is quite simple.....both guy and gal need to keep their pants zipped! When they are ready for a child let them have sex.”
You can’t avoid human nature and hormones. Isn’t it part of human nature to procreate? Or to want to?
Finti> See above.
Don’t get me wrong most esteemed gentlemen. I would prefer it if the choice was that of both the man and the woman. A man cannot force a woman to have an abortion or bear a child. She can – in theory – do whatever she chooses, no matter what the guy wants. The poor man may not even WANT to be a father (and, boy, have I seen what can happen when the girl decides she wants the man to stick around and has a child), but if the girl wants the child – voila.
However – the man has a choice to dodge HIS responsibility. He may simply run away. Sure, there may be some child-support, but compared to raising a child that is peanuts.
So just as the man has the choice of leaving the pregnant woman if he does not want to have any part in raising and caring for the child – so the woman has a choice as to whether or not the child should be born.
