No, it works quite well. I don't consider fetuses "people"; I consider a fetus something that becomes a person eventually. Very few fully developed people deserve to die, but if you asked a fetus, it wouldn't say one way or the other. In short, the rights of the woman who carries the fetus are more important than whether the fetus lives or dies. I wouldn't like to give birth to a child against my will, would you?
I don't know where you get this idea of me believing whatever the opposite of conservatives do. By that logic, how do we know it's not the other way around? Bullshit argument, really.

simple solution: Stop having unprotected sex.
Rape victims are a different story, they can't help that they had unprotected sex. But i assure you if people stopped having unprotected sex so often over populating the earth would be as big of a problem

I still refuse to believe that you would go through pregnancy and childbirth if it wasn't your idea in the first place. Much of what you said is true... IF you wanted a kid to begin with. It's very hard for a guy to put all this into perspective. I'd bet that 99% of guys who would answer the same way as you did would be in the operating room in a second if they actually became pregnant.

This is true, but people treat contraceptives and condoms like they're magic and never fail. They don't always work.

And I'm telling you right now that if you were, say, two months pregnant, and you saw that little ball of barely living tissue inside your tummy and realized what was going to happen in seven months, chances are you would abort it. Fortunately I'll never have to go through that, but I'm not ashamed to say that if I did I would probably make the same decision.
But in any case, the issue isn't that some women who are raped and etc don't have abortions. The issue is that people have the right to their own bodies, including rape victims. When a person is so ill or injured as to be incapacitated and unable to voice decisions, a family member tells the doctor what they want done. Whether you consider a fetus a person in that sense or not, how are the two situations so different?
