Imo: he pretty clearly arrives after they do. They have a conversation as if he isn't there, then while Arsenal is talking about how it'll take over a week for Supes to find them, his sentence drops off... because Superman just showed up.

And for Superman's arrival, there are little blur/speed lines around the edge of the panel, as if he's just zoomed in. Like a warp speed visual effect.

So I think Philo was right to say "overcomes teleportation" because he basically neuters their escape strategy... but "overcome" is different than "outrace"

This is how I read it too… the whole dialogue that happens when they get to the island kind of nullifies the idea that he outraced the teleportation..

Because Norrin doesn't have cosmic senses and couldn't have simply scanned the planet sitting there, Occam's what?
