Yeah. Phildo is many things, but he's very careful with his choice of words (he's been this way ever since he got cuckolded by a librarian with a dictionary). Hence Superman 'overpowers' teleportation.

I just remembered that JLA story where Adam Strange kidnapped the JLA to help him against the Entarans:

Yeah, I was thinking you were referring to that scene, so I made the difference about the beams themselves and the teleportation they create

Because in the same story, Rann was stated to be at Alpha Centauri system( about 4 lightyears from the Earth)

And Zeta Beams( or rather, it's teleportation effect) returns Adam to the Earth instantaneously

He got to the island after they did. Seems like we're on the same page now.

Only because they were cloaked. You're taking it as he was slower than the teleportation.

Adam also took Superman to 100 trillion lightyears away instantly.

I'm saying you don't have proof that he was faster than the teleportation. The fact is he didn't race the teleportation at all.

You have no way to compare the speeds and say which was faster.

He arrived right after the outlaws did and left pluto after they teleported, of course he raced the teleportation.

Whether or not he outraced it, that's the question.

How was that outracing teleportation?

It's inconclusive.

I disagree. As Philo put it:

It's funny because I did, in fact, intentionally formulate it like that, because I do think at best it's up to interpretation whether he raced the teleportation itself [I do not think he did]. Still -- in moments scanning their cloaked location and travelling from Pluto is good.

He used cloaking beyond even my senses.

Let's not pretend Superman cannot fly FTL.

Using this one scene in contravention of all the scenes he's been shown to fly FTL is dumber than arguing all pre-Crisis feats are valid.

Cool. Except that's not why I posted it:

I thought one COULD outrace Zeta beams; you just needed to be FTL.

It was for a different point entirely. But agree, the argument that you are arguing against is indeed dumb, people really shouldn't make it.
