The principal of a private school in Holmes County has been arrested and faces sex charges in connection with inappropriate relations involving a student.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office and county court filings, law enforcement officials received an initial case assignment on May 30th regarding sexual misconduct between a juvenile and 28-year-old Aaron Michael McFatter of Chipley.

McFatter previously served as principal of Grace Fellowship Christian Academy, a private Christian school in Bonifay, during the 2023–24 school year. He also served as the youth pastor of Grace Fellowship Christian Church.

Beginning in December 2023, McFatter and a student at his school began messaging over SnapChat and WhatsApp, the teen told investigators. They started calling and sending photos as the conversations "progressed into more flirting and inappropriate communication," deputies reported in an arrest affidavit.

The pastor complained about his marital problems and said he was going to get divorced, but by the time the proceedings were over "they could be together," investigators said.

Records show McFatter's wife filed for divorce in May, only two weeks before deputies said they began investigating the criminal case. McFatter is accused of having unlawful physical and sexual contact with the teen in April.

McFatter has been released on a $50,000 bond.

Why she wait all that long to denounce him? His life is over, prison would be a paradise at his age. He would be fed, taken care of and looked after by a group of medical professionals. 😂

Montgomery County Court Judge Thomas Branca told the Reverend Mark Hatcher that two versions of the North Philadelphia pastor had been presented in his courtroom Thursday.

One was an active, beloved community leader who helped countless people through his ministry at Holy Ghost Headquarters Revivalist Center. The other was a serial predator who used that authority to rape a teenage congregant and sexually assault two children he was related to.

That dichotomy led Branca to sentence Hatcher, 61, to five years and three months to 12 years in state prison after a crowded hearing in Norristown filled with dozens of the pastor's supporters, including former Philadelphia Mayor Wilson Goode.

North Carolina police officer Erickson Douglas Lee failed to appear Thursday for what was supposed to be a guilty plea for an eight-year sentence.

On Friday, he received a sentence of nine years; one year longer because of the missed court date. Lee, 26, was the leader of a youth group at Morningstar Fellowship Church in Fort Mill from 2020 to early 2023.

Lee used that status to abuse boys, prosecutor Hannah Woods said. Lee coerced and intimidated boys at his Fort Mill home while giving them alcohol and vapes, showing them porn, and sexually touching them, Woods said.

Boys from Joplin and Carthage and a boy and a girl from Neosho are among 11 victims of past sexual abuse by Catholic Church officials cited in a lawsuit filed last week against the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau.

The diocese and Bishop Edward Rice are listed as defendants in the lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in Springfield regarding purported abuse of children dating back as far as the late 1960s by six named and three unnamed priests, a monsignor, an unnamed youth pastor, and an unnamed deacon.

Rice is being sued solely in his capacity as the chief executive officer and director of the diocese for purportedly knowing about the abuse, failing to report it, and dealing with it through ineffective "treatment" and transfers of the offenders to other parishes where they would often reoffend.
