In less than a page you've went from "Russian victory is unquestioned" to "Well Ukraine might not be able to win ALL its territory back"

👍

If they can't win the long game, logically that means they lose a war of attrition.

Russia has the gains here. If they lose some ground and men, they will still be ahead.

How much of Afghanistan did Russia control after a 20 year long war and when they were much more militarily powerful than they are now?

That was because the U.S. formed the Mujah Hadiin.

Then again, we're talking about a nation that couldn't even control Finland...

Ukraine isn't Afghanistan. Completely different logistics, Isis is entrenched there for a reason they took over almost as soon as America moved out.

Yeah. Easier logistics and yet they still can't make any progress. At this point they're literally using century old equipment and weapons.

Because the US feeds Infinity money and far more advanced weapons.

Which is resulting in a stalemate at best, and incremental losses at worst. How long will NATO fund them though? What happens when the US needs to ramp up its war machine for its own problems?

Ukraine will hold out as long as Nato supports them, while Russia can hold out as long as they need to.

From this point of view, one might wonder if Ukraine is essentially being used to vastly weaken Russia without committing any troops of our own.

Russia didn't hold out as long as they needed to in Afghanistan. It was one of the 2 main factors that collapsed the Soviet Union. The other being the costs of Chernobyl. They will crumble within a decade. If not long before.

More attacks on Russian soil are being reported, allegedly from Russian anti-Putin forces. Too funny.

Yeah... at Russia's discretion.

Lord Lucien, Hitler Goku needs a better Vegeta-Moustoooouuuche to satisfy the the mustache needs of us all. 🙂

The acts of aggression are awful.

NATO😖 acts of aggression against Russia. And against CHINA. The Ukraine/RUSSIA war is a REGIONAL conflict, much like the American civil war. Similar conflicts happen throughout the world, by what right do we meddle in this conflict?

"Ukraine’s deputy defence minister has confirmed that in some areas Kyiv’s forces are moving to “offensive actions”, heightening speculation that a counteroffensive is close to launch." -TheGuardian

Russia/Putin is calling any and all attacks on Russia as terrorism. Funny how that works with Rightist, forever victims.

Ukraine has officially begun their counteroffensive into Russia.

Biden says threat of Putin using tactical nuclear weapons is 'real

President Joe Biden said on Monday the threat of Russian President Vladimir Putin using tactical nuclear weapons is "real", days after denouncing Russia's deployment of such weapons in Belarus.

On Saturday, Biden called Putin's announcement that Russia had deployed its first tactical nuclear weapons to Belarus "absolutely irresponsible". -snip

When Biden warned that Russia was likely going to invade Ukraine, the Rightwing news, talking heads and many politicians here said he was 'fear mongering'. I'm sure they'll do the same with this warning.

Yeah, we are on the cusp of the end.

I don't think this is the end. But Putin raging and using a small nuke on Ukraine out of butthurt because his "two week operation" is a year+ in now, it's possible, but I don't think it's likely.

it's not likely, but it puts us on the cusp regardless. The nuclear power station being wrecked is much more likely Rob.

Key word is tactical. Could be simulations. srug

I mean, when was the last major nuclear weapon used sinced WW2?

Aye.

Chernobyl 2.0.
