That reminds me of a documentary I once saw here in Germany. An obviously gay boy wanted to film his coming out, as i suppose teenagers do these days for TikTok or other social media, so he took his mom infront of the camera, sat next to her and said:" mom, i have to tell you something, something really important, something that will surprise you" and she replied "oh, you are straight and like girls?". While she laughed he cried and then she padded him and said "oh honey, i know you are gay since you were a little boy".
