Must admit I'm taken aback by the hostility towards Tom Tucker.
Just look at that mustache, Fox fired him for being too manly.
Looks like my bad behavior was all the right ways to train a dog.
Showing her a dog biscuit, then putting it out of reach. Winding her up with "You wanna play ball??!"; walking to the door, then sitting down. She doesn't try and hurry me or whine about it, she'll just lay down and wait patiently. She knows I'm the alpha dog now.
And now that I depricated myself for the day;
I'm actually the enabler, Callie just happens to be very well behaved with me. But she shouldn't be. When she was a pup the very first thing I did was bring my face close to her and let her lick me up and down. The second thing I did was dog sit at their house, sat on the couch as she hopped up at a fence and cried for attention, and brought her into the TV room.
Sister didn't really care, she just was afraid of pee.
At about two or three weeks I tried silently walking into the kitchen without disturbing my sister and her pup, and Callie yipped at me as loud as I've heard and gave chase.
I let her get away with grabbing a popsicle stick and indulging her in a chase, or other indulgences. I actually start singing to her when its time to play, or have treats, or do any of the fun stuff, so when I talk normally she actually listens. Only once was I stern with her, as a pup, never again.
Usually she'll calmly lay down until I glance in her direction, and then she knows its fun time.
I guess I did something right but it's all happenstance.
I'd say the worst thing I did was allow the nipping during the teething process. You really aren't supposed to encourage biting, but I was her chew toy. At family events when it was time to go home she actually leaped onto my leg, looked me in the eye, snapped her teeth at the air two or three times, then got off and ran to her masters.
This other gathering she refused to even go near me all evening. If I called her over she'd ignore me. When I went into the TV lounge she quietly followed me in there, got a big goofy grin on her face, snapped out at both my hands hard enough to leave marks.
And when her adult teeth grew in as my sister was carrying her Callie very gently squeezed my finger until it started to hurt like a vice and I ended up losing a thumb nail. Sis had no idea it happened.
As an adult, if she's playful and I say "Ow!" she immediately breaks off and licks my face. I can only assume one of them trained her, because that is just too smart for her to realize on her own.
Like I said she's a great well behaved dog, in spite of her terrible companion.
I hate negotiating with Chinese people so ****ing much. Unless you're willing to pay 20% over market value they won't sell, and if you're selling they'll throw the most absurd low-balls at you as if it didn't test your patience...and then they have to consult with their financial adviser (or whatever "dao lao" is) before going through with the deal. The CNY is expensive now too....

Why not go to those who are paying market value instead?
