His father is Jewish and his mother is of German and Dutch descent. In Orthodox Judiasm, the mother must be Jewish for the children to be Jewish, if the mom is not yet the father is, that isn't officially recognised.
Of course one can convert, but he never has. And there are reform branches and such, but that doesn't seem to apply here either.

The line between 17 and 18 is arbitrary. Treating a 17 year old like an 8 year old is entirely arbitrary.
As a Catholic, it's hard not to see this;
..and point out no Catholic organization caused a similar thing.

I've been thinking about expert opinion, and the relevance of opinions outside of their field. For example, if someone cracked the human genome, wouldn't his opinion on, say, how we should all be taking the Vax carry some weight? As cracking the genome proves a level of intelligence that could apply to logic and reasoning?
