Whichever one triggers people on KMC the way Everything Everywhere all at Once did. 😏

Probably American Fiction because it's Black centric.

Ugh, jaden, you Scottish bastard, must you try to open that can of worms again? I'm not taking the bait..

I've already got a pretty good head start on the Best Pictures. I've seen exactly half of them already.

Still need to see...

"American Fiction"
"Maestro"
"Past Lives"
"Poor Things"
"The Zone of Interest"

Didn't we prove that Jaden was paid off by the Council of Asians to shill for EEAAO?

"American Fiction" - Watched
"Anatomy of a Fall" - Not
"Barbie"- Watched
"The Holdovers"- Watched
"Killers of the Flower Moon"- Watched
"Maestro"- Watched
"Oppenheimer"- Watched
"Past Lives" - Not

Just need three for me

The fact that Barbie has even one Oscar nomination proves there is no god.

RDJ did fantastic in Oppenheimer.

Lily Gladstone is a shoe-in for Killers of the Flower Moon, IMO.

I'd pick RDJ for BSA, a close second is Sterling K. Brown.

People still in disbelief at the academy, when many years ago goodfellas lost to a crappy white savior movie. The academy is a joke, as is all these awards shows

With that said: Barbie was great. Should have had more nominations .

I mean, it's not surprising. It's very flamboyant and panders to theater lovers with the music numbers and such. I don't have a problem with it being nominated. It was fun and entertaining provided one isn't a hypersensitive snowflake Conservative.

Of those three I've seen Anatomy of a Fall and it's pretty fucking brilliant. A long, heavy watch, though. So be prepared.

Even having not seen all the Best Pictures yet, I just feel in my gut that it's going to be either Killers of the Flower Moon or Oppenheimer.

Anyone who knows literally anything about film knows that Barbie is a very well-made movie. It may not be to your taste or have resonated with you but it's very good by any objective metric you can point out and if you disagree you're not only wrong but almost certainly biased. It was certainly a less flawed movie than Oppenheimer tbh.

Speaking of Oppenheimer's flaws how the **** did this movie get nominated for best sound? The sound editing in the movie is ****ing atrocious. The music and ambience is torqued all the way to the ****ing sky to the point that it drowns out dialogue in a film that is filled with dialogue. Watching it in theaters without subtitles got pretty annoying ngl.

At least Godzilla Minus One gets a nomination, Deserves more tho.

Ryan Gosling gets an Oscar nomination while Margot Robbie gets snubbed.

This is literally the plot of the Barbie movie.

This

I just realized Saltburn didn't get any nominations. I guess that's good, because it was kind of overhyped and actually a bit cringey at times.

Just means I wasted my time on it. Ugh.

Saltburn was awful.

Since Barbie's nomination has brought the strife out again. Imagine the tears if it wins. LoL.

Yeah, it's only seemed worse and worse in retrospect.

lol, don't forget that he's also a wannabe screenwriter. He sucked and so now he's a Right-wing grifter.

Guys, guys, guys, Saltburn was not awful. The story centered around awful people and awful acts, but the writing, acting and directing was good.

Barry Keoghan did another solid performance with the character. This guy is shaping up to be a very good actor.

He is a good actor, yes. And he also seems to have a pretty good-sized pecker from what I could tell.

He lives along the road from me. See him out and about every so often.
