Found out the River Raft Scene at 0:34 is from the Jurassic Park novel

i guess eventually alot of unused stuff from the novel will make into these films.

I caught a matinee today.

I liked it. It's pretty much a by-the-numbers Jurassic film. But the details are important and the action and set pieces are thrilling and impressive.

I think being written by Koepp again helped it tremendously. It's pretty much a "greedy capitalist vs the people" situation.

Glad you liked it. I might take the kid to check it out, I feel they have done about as much as they can with the franchise.

Oh, they definitely have.

But I'll probably keep showing up as long as they still have dinosaurs and real locations.

It's not really comparable to Dominion...

It's more like a mix of JP1 and JP3 with the genetic hybrid/mutants mixed in.

For Jurassic Park, I was like 24-25 and drunk off my ass.

I was 7 or 8 when JP came out. I don't think I saw it in the theater. Probably didn't see it until pretty long after it came out. Growing up in an evangelical household I was kind of deprived of the dinosaur childhood and my young mind was warped by creationist brainwashing. To this day I'm still greatly annoyed by that.

But I'm making up for it now. Seeing the Sue T-Rex skeleton in person in Chicago a few years ago was probably the most awe inspiring thing I've ever seen. Just amazing.

So I'm pretty stoked that a new, decently fun Jurassic movie is out.
