Adonis Creed vs Rocky Balboa

Started by relentless13 pages

Rocky 5 he had brain damage so he had to retire

Rocky 6 he went to the boxing commission to get a fight license and they said that his brain was cleared and healthy to box

Creed 2 Rocky says Drago "broke" something inside of him

so the actual truth of the matter is kind of convoluted to serve the story being told, take that as you will in regards to Rockys durability

The line was “That guy broke things in me that ain't never been fixed. It's not worth it”

But I take your meaning (I think). Let’s not forget that Rocky had to stop fighting in Rocky 2 because he was about to lose sight in one eye, and the same eye is brutalized by Creed, Clubber Lang, THEN Drago, etc, etc.

The reason for these stated injuries is to hype the current fight. Regardless of that, only 2 fighters managed to pull off damaging Rocky, and they were Apollo Creed and Drago. He managed to immediately shrug off every other beating he received.

Rocky 1: He does one last fight before he retires
Rocky 2: He wants to retire because of his eye, but fights anyway
Rocky 3: He retires but has to prove himself to Clubber Lang
Rocky 4: He retires but has to avenge Apollo Creed
Rocky 5: He retires but still fights his protege in the street
Rocky 6: He's retired but has to prove he still has what it takes

These films are brilliantly written. 😂

To be fair, things like this actually happen in real life. You're forced to retire from fighting due to a medical issue. Wait a few years to heal, find a more lenient medical practicioner or board, get cleared to fight again even if you're not completely healed. Basically you just need to prove that you're "healed enough" to fight.

^^^Makes for some great fights though!

The Rocky movies are so stupid in terms of boxing. No blocking, barely any doodging. Sigh...

In this regard, the Creed movies are way better.

^^^Its almost like they’re meant as entertainment or something.

The movies couldn't be entertaining without them stopping punches with their face all the time?

To be fair, this is mostly a case of outdated fight choreography. It's the same thing for sword fights and kung-fu fights for Hollywood movies in the 80's and early 90's. It's not specific to just the Rocky flicks.

That's why the Creed movies have better choreography. They're newer movies with younger actors and more modernized choreography.

The new movies don’t have enough “ADRIAAAAAAANNNNN”!

I get that and in non-sports movies it doesn't bother as much, but if you show something like boxing, a real sport with rules and techniques and a long history behind it, it honestly becomes quite stupid to be that far off from reality (unless satire or whatever). It couldve used some balancing.

When it comes to feats now, its hard to compare to the newer movies. Rocky is basically made of concrete, the way he can take a gazillion blows from a guy that punches like he got steel fists.

You’re right. Clearly

Rocky withstood a gazillion bone shattering brain splattering punches without being killed or koed.

Is that better?

let's try this:

with·stand
verb
remain undamaged or unaffected by; resist

do you understand yet why you couldn't be more wrong, here? or are you just having a trolly good time?

Ha, this is still going.

Read my last post before this.
That way you don't seem stupid for typing what you just typed.

Wouldn't participate mean argue for a side?
Well that's what I meant. Wasn't it obvious?

I don't get the connection. If that was an attempt to show a contradiction then you failed miserably lol

^^^No he really didn’t.
