well I mean she absorbed pretty well EVERYONE's powers when she tried stopping that celestial in uncanny X-Men. that included Thor whose powers she has absorbed in the past. she's also absorbed power from ares in the past as well as juggernaut. not sure why she couldn't absorb meggan's powers. rogue's powers are really writer-driven though. she was really messed up when she tried to absorb spiral's powers. so on the whole I'd say she could take meggan down more often than not but allowing for some writer leeway i'd say maybe 8/10.

Spiral is a skilled mind-manipulator and extremely resistant to domination, so she was able to gain control -- but the absorption itself, the action of Rogue's power, was successful.

i didn't say it didn't work. i said she was messed up. badly. so sure they worked--if you're definition of working means she ended up with 6 arms and spiral in charge of rogue 馃憜
And, my definition of "working"? FYI, Rogue's absorption transfers the target's powers and special physical features (including Spiral's arms), as well as their psyche (which allowed Spiral to take over). This is how Rogue's powers work. It's Chris Claremont's definition, not mine.
lol your definition of working is different from mine--and marvel's in general. her powers "work" when she absorbs powers attributes and psyches AND is in control of them. and when i say something worked i imply they ALL worked just fine. they clearly didn't. in fact, to say they worked would be completely misleading. ie--she was completely messed up from the attempt. like i said. and i wager if we asked claremont if her powers "worked", he'd add a similar caveat. 馃憜
anyway, she failed badly against loki but meggan is no loki so there's a much better chance she succeeds here than fails but meggan is a weird one so... yeah.

What happens after the absorption is not power-related, it just depends on her and her victim's mental prowess. Powerful/skilled minds and mind manipulators such as Mr. Sinister or Spiral can overcome Rogue's psyche almost immediately, and take control. Whereas weaker minds and/or those with little experience with psychic fights Rogue can typically subdue, sometimes with some difficulty. Marvel has stated time and time again that this fight for control is simply due to psyche vs. psyche -- nothing to do with Rogue's mutant power working or failing.

oi. you want to mislead by saying her powers "worked" 馃憜 none of that changes what i said. she tried. she was messed up afterwards so they didn't work the way they normally do. nowhere did i say her powers did NOT work so it's a pointless argument.
It is trivial logic, really:
Rogue's power = power absorption.
Rogue absorbs someone's powers --> Rogue's powers work on that someone.
The fact that Spiral could even attempt to take control over Rogue shows that Rogue's power had indeed worked, as it had successfully transferred Spiral's psyche (along with her powers and physical features) to Rogue.
Looks like you actually now agree with my original statement, as I noted above. But you just keep arguing for the sake of it.
馃槀 thought it was just me. 馃憜
@smurph--granted meggan is a strange bird. there could very well be some weird effects. my thought was that even given some possible odd effects she'd still drain meggan enough that she should be able to take her out. in a similar way that she took out ares even though her powers didn't work as they normally do (guys gotta choose his words carefully around here lol) I'd say a couple times meggan's weirdness would totally take over and in that case i'd give her the win, like I give spiral the win over rogue.
