Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan were closer to Nazis than Trump.

All they need to do is decide they are above the law and ignore the courts. That's the plan, and has probably been the plan since 1974. They're dipping their toes in the water, gauging responses, and trying to find out whether or not they even need a Reichstag Fire to pull it off, and the end game is "goodbye courts", which means they do whatever they want.

Speaker Mike Johnson saying that openly is definitely putting out feelers, but also a "bend the knee to Trump or else" threat to the courts and judges who are actually doing their jobs by blocking Trump's illegal actions.

Republicans control the White House, Supreme Court, Senate and House of Reps and they've largely decided that it's 'much to do about nothing', so nothing will come of this, when it's corruption and incompetence from start to finish.

The best you can hope for is one less important sacrificial lamb gets reprimanded somehow, but that would be Trump admitting that his cronyism pick of Pete Hegseth was a bad idea, so likely won't happen.

I wish Canada would remember it's loyalty to the UK more. We'd be all like, "Thank you for your loyalty and servitude." Then they'd be like, "Thanks for making us, buddy."

I wonder what they all think about that Pierre Poilievre these days. They sure did used to love him, didn't they?

Something tells me they don't anymore.

Some US oil executives see disaster in Trump’s agenda while dismissing ‘drill, baby, drill’ as a ‘myth and populist rallying cry’

Most respondents decried the uncertainty and higher costs from his tariffs, while others said plans to sharply lower crude prices are incompatible with a major expansion in energy production.

“The administration’s chaos is a disaster for the commodity markets. ‘Drill, baby, drill’ is nothing short of a myth and populist rallying cry. Tariff policy is impossible for us to predict and doesn’t have a clear goal. We want more stability,” one executive said. -snip

You don't say?

These morons backed Trump I'm sure, now US oil production is going to take a massive hit, while prices skyrocket.

Basically they're saying while they're not in OPEC, they enjoy the cartel price fixing it brings and they don't want the supply to increase to bring the price per barrel down.

It takes a lot to make Trump come off as the good guy but they've managed to do it in that scenario.

Saudi Arabia (and buddies will follow) will lower or raise their flow to keep the price of a barrel at what they want, we saw it when US oil production increased under Biden.

Watch this lead to Russia suddenly becoming the US' biggest oil importer, while Canada goes "but, eh?" Which will mean the price of a gallon will go up for Americans, not down.

Tomorrow is Trump's 'liberation day', where Americans will have the liberty to pay more for food and everyday items.

This is of course if Trump actually goes through with it in full, as he's claimed multiple times before and then tucked tail like a little orange sissy.

Holy crap! Trump is FINALLY being held accountable for his actions:

^Correction, tomorrow 4/2/25 is "liberation day", assuming Trump goes through with it and doesn't bravely run away again.

When danger rears it's ugly head?

He bravely turned his tail and fled. Obviously.
