My screen name comes from a gag my old friends in Europe used to call me, in 1979. The call sign for air force cops over the radio is sierra papa. So, since I was one of the few of us to actually use this in talking over the airwaves, my night clubbing partners would call me sierrap Doug.

Oh, now. I suppose you might say... it was a police band thing.

I chose my name after a marathon of spider movies(Earth vs The Spider, Arachnaphobia, Eight legged freaks, etc). And I love spiders.

I have a deep appreciation and awe for nature. The gentle caress of a warm summer breeze upon your skin, or the warmth of the summer sun on your face. The fall of colorful autumn leaves, and the softness of winter snow. Lightning, thunder, wind and rain, ... it' s a fascinating sight.

Multiple reasons exist for my name choice really:

It's the title of a song I like quite a lot by a band I like.

I think it's a good name in general and I've always had a deep fascination for space and stars etc.

mine is this.. there is a mountnain called kilamanjaro..duh everybody knows that right? but there is also the capital of tanzania( pornouncd tahn-za-nee-ha)named manjaro,but when i was 14 i gave myslef the nick name Jaro(totally unrelated to the previous)...but here is where it gets foolish..wayyyyyy, back in the day, im talking early 90's when Zorro was a TV show. yes they made a tv show out of it😄 several in fact. anyhoo, a part of the theme song went(this is the part where you do it with a sing-alongy voice): "the man called zorrrooooo.....[ZORRO!] so after i named myslef Jaro(a year or two give or take) i started calling my self "the man called Jaro" and i would sing the theme song to Zorro when i was playing video games or just anything for that matter:: but it wasnt til i joine this forum it dawn on me to use manjaro...which is short for man-called-Jaro. coincidentally, every single forum i join. i use that name, so if you see a manjro anywhere else on the net its probably me

I got mine from a book... actually a poem, and i liked it
and it also has my initials in it, so bonus 😛

B/c I couldn't think of a username.......... and I didn't think I'd stay, so I didn't care much when I chose my name 😛

Well my Username comes from 2 songs by a Russian singer named Origa.

The 2 songs are "Inner Universe" and "Rise".

So I put them together and came up with InnerRise.

I made the mistake of choosing the username "NoInnerRise" for another site b/c InnerRise was taken and got made fun of. Just look at the name long and HARD and you'll see why I got made fun of.
