50. Ghost of a Chance
Kitty is saved from a rockslide by a mutant girl named Danielle Moonstar. Danielle quickly joins the institute, but immediately causes trouble during a training session when she causes the nightmares of Jean, Kurt, and Kitty to come true. That night, Logan, Professor X, and Storm also have powerful nightmares, worrying Kitty that her new friend will be expelled from the institute. When Kitty wakes up the next morning, Danielle isn't there - and when she asks, nobody has even heard of her. Kitty is determined to find Danielle Moonstar, and follows a path of strange messages that only she is receiving to her location.

NOTE: Dani Moonstar will be making her first appearance in this episode, and will most likely join the new recruits.
Dani Moonstar (codename Psyche, then Mirage) was one of the five original New Mutants in the comics, which included: Cannonball, Sunspot, Wolfsbane, & Karma.
Yeah the episode was great. I liked Dani though I got a little confused when she started using her powers LOL...
'Nyways, has anyone else caught the "Maggie Blue Road" that Kitty found on the directory where Dani and her Grandpa were supposed to be living??..That "Maggie Blue" was taken from Kitty's Evo voice actress named "Maggie Blue O'Hara"...LOL..I was so cracking up when I heard that..that's a very good tribute to her..LOL..😄
Now, I'm wishing that if ever there will be another Nightcrawler dedicated episode, there will be a "Brad Avenue' or if for Jean Grey, there will be a "Venus Street"..LOL..😛😄
Dani! I loved her... the dream/illusion sequences were very very cool (though like I've said, confusing, but still..cool). I also liked her character design (hair! loved the hair)
OK..this is again..a brief summary of the episode.
Beginning of the episode, we see Bobby, Kitty, Rogue, Wolverine, Sam, and Kurt in a rocky canyon. They're on motorcross bikes and all-terrain vehicles (guys on bikes, girls on ATV's... grrr. ATV's have four wheels.) Wolverine splits them into pairs Kurt/Bobby, Kitty/Rogue, Sam/Logan, tells them to watch each other's backs and enjoy the area since the reservoir will flood it the next day. They split up, Sam races Logan (Logan wanted to see Sam's biking skills that he brags about?), and Rogue and Kitty momentarily split up, Rogue going on a high path and Kitty the one below it. Rogue's is shorter and as she goes around a curve, some rocks fall into Kitty's path. Kitty swerves around them, but ends up falling down to a ledge right above the canyon floor. She tries pulling herself up but the rocks break away, and she's left unconcious on the canyon floor. As Logan and Sam are racing, Logan notices smoke coming from the other side of a rock pile and says to Sam someone must have had an accident. They go to look, but a shadowy figure finds Kitty first and drags her out of the way before the rest of the collapsing rock shelf falls on her. Shadowy girl turns out to be Dannielle Moonstar, who finds Kitty's ability to phase thru rock very cool and admits she's a mutant too, but with not-as-cool powers. Logan races up with the rest of the kids and immediately runs up to Kitty to see if she's alright. Rogue is trailing a little behind them, asks what happened. Logan yells at her that she left her teammate. Rogue gets this shocked/horrified look on her face. I'm guessing it's an addition to the stress she's dealt with recently.
Back to the mansion, Kitty is spying from the doorway on Professor X talking to Dani. Rogue comes up to her feeling bad about splitting up from Kitty and her getting hurt. Prof calls everyone to the gathering room, where he announces that Dani has a agreed to enroll at the institute. After the kids leave (Kitty says she can sleep in her room, happy that she's made a new friend), Logan and Chuck have a talk about Dani's powers. It's a form of telepathy, and Dani has some emotion issues to deal with. Logan makes the remark it's a bad thing to have an upset teen with the ability to go into people's minds. Next is a training session: Jean, Kitty and Kurt test Sunspot, Sam, Bobby and Dani. Kitty takes out Sunspot, Kurt takes out Sam, and then someone breaks Bobby's ice bridge and he and Dani end up in the water. Dani looks at Jean, and her powers go psycho and she ends up floating out of control somewhere. Kurt tries to teleport after her, but ends up in a hell-like dimension that's inhabited by those red dragon things that were in the episode where Forge was introduced. Kitty then seems to sink down into the ground and can't get out. Eventually, these ngihtmares subside and everyone is shaken. Prof shows up to explain they were just illusions created by Dani, who is still in the water looking rather pissed off. Next scene Kitty is again spying from the doorway where Prof, and possibly Logan and Storm (forgot) are talking with Dani. She leaves angrily, telling Kitty that everyone always gets mad at her even though she can't control her powers and its not her fault. Dani said it was just like at home.
Later that night, Dani is having a nightmare, and we see others having them as well. Storm sees her room walls close in on her, Logan sees himself in shackles and then floating in the Weapon X adamantium-bonding cylinder(/chamber?). Prof's is the scariest of all, he is awoken in the middle of a night by a searchlight coming thru his window. He gets out on the balcony in his wheelchair, and sees a fleet of black helicopters with searchlights coming from the town in the distance. By feet, I mean like 30+. Then a sentinel appears from behind the balcony/pops up in from of Prof X and grabs him out of his wheelchair. At this point Xavier wakes up and mentally calls Kitty to the kitchen. He, Logan and Storm have assembled there and are gettign coffee when Kitty arrives. Xavier asks Kitty if Dani has been in Kitty's room all night... Dani has. The adults are obviously shaken up and Kitty pleads that they don't get angry at Dani. Kitty goes back to bed to see a sleeping Dani still in her bed.
When Kitty wakes up the next morning, she is freaked out to see Dani's bed and all her clothes from her armoire gone. She bursts into the kitchen asking where she is, what did they do with Dani? Cyke, Jean, Prof... and two or three other people are eating breakfast, but stare at her when she bursts in. They say they have no idea what she's talking about. Kitty tries calling information I guess, asking for any Moonstars in the area or on the reservation. She's told there aren't any. Prof takes her back to her room, saying that she's been sleeping since the ATV accident the day before, and there is no Danielle Moonstar. She goes back to sleep.
While asleep, she has a nightmare or should I start calling them Dani-mares ? She's in the institute, but the walls are gray/green and water is dripping from everywhere. She hears Dani's voice and a shadowy figure running past her in another hallway and runs after it. She stops and Dani shows up behind her, pale with dark circles around her eyes, asking for help. Kitty wakes up and thinks its another nightmare, but the phone rings and Dani is on the other end, asking for help. Kitty runs into the kitchen, making Kurt drop his hotdog from the bun, and starts ranting on Dani again. Kurt says that the Prof already went thru this with her, there was no Dani. Kitty then thinks that the Prof erased Dani from everyone's minds. She and asks Kurt to take her back to where Dani used to live (just beyond that canyon they were ATVing in). Kurt doesn't want to go, but tells her to get dressed. They bamf into a ghosttown, and the payphone a few feet away starts ringing. Kitty answers it, it's Dani saying that time's almost up. Kurt comes up and points out that the phone handset isn't connected to the phone and that he's worried about her when she said it was Dani on the phone. Kitty looks thru the old phonebook and finds a Moonstar listed and their address. The come to the house, and a withered old man is sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch. He doesn't respond to them until Kurt asks what happened to all the people. Grandfather Moonstar says they got sick of his granddaughter Dani. Kitty presses him further to where she is. He says she went hiking in the canyon and never came home. Kurt asks how long ago that was. Grandfather Moonstar says two years.
Kitty has an epiphany and knows where Dani is. They bamf to the outcropping that Kitty's wrecked ATV is on. Kitty wants to go down, but Kurt says they should get help. Kitty says Kurt should go get help, there's not enough time. She takes the flashlight from Kurt and dives into the rising water, swims down a little then phases thru the canyon floor. She finds Dani sitting in water up to her waist, glowing blue and pulls her a higher area. Dani comes out of her suspended-animation trance-thing, and Kitty says she can't phase her out because Dani is so weak. By now, Kurt has gotten to Logan and the other kids to get help for Kitty. Logan and Sam had been racing again for a rematch (I missed parts of it, but it was shown. Magma, Bezerker, and Sunspot provided obstacles). They get to where Kurt left Kitty, and figure out how to get down there since Kurt can't teleport unless he knows where he's going. Bobby freezes the rising water, Sam tries to make a hole in the floor but Logan yells for him to stop, they don't want a cave-in. We see some rocks falling in Dani and Kitty's cave, where the water is up to their waists. Next is Magma, burning a hole 30 feet or so to the girl's left. Kurt teleports in, seeing open space, and gets the girls when the water is up to their necks.
Dani wakes up in a medlab bed with Kitty sitting next to her. They had some pep talk about friendship etc.

I just wish that she will stay in the institute and be a part of the New Mutants. 🙂
New XMen in Evo?
This morning there was a new member of the XMen crew on WB. Her name is Danielle, and I have no idea who she really is? I thought it was Psylocke, and I almost fell off the couch, but she didn't have the marking on her face.....
Her power is to tap into their minds, as a telekentic power, and make your nitemares a reality..... it was really cool
