Rachel is Jean and Scotts daughter from an anlternate timeline (days of future past). In the alternate future, the phoenix force was impressed with rachel, giving her the power of the phoenix force. THe phoenix then sent her back in time to alter the past so that her timeline would not exist. When that happenned, the phoenix wiped rachels memory of her painful past so that she could start over and make a fresh start at life.
She originally joined Excalibur. Later, she got caught in another alternate timeline, taking her thousands of years into the future, forming the askani clan and opposing apocolypse by raising cable to be his enemy. She then returned to the past and regained her youth, and was used as a pawn by elias bogan, before being freed and rejoining the x-men under the title 'marvel girl'
so the phoenix IS back 😄 😱 💃 💃
I still think rachel is gonna ressurect jean in some way 🙂
Rachel didn't succeed destroying her timeline. Kate Pryde her friend in in the timeline that Rachel belonged to, made a deal with the Phoenix Force to suppress her memories and send her back the the Marvel Universe's Past, which by the way wasn't her Universe's Past, she went to the wrong past the first time when she was trying to go into her past and correct things, that why her mission failed.
When I was talking about Kate Pryde making the deal with the Phoenix force to supress her memories, I was saying that Kate Pryde made a deal with the Phoenix Force to suppress Rachel's memory of this reality and send her to the Marvel one to have a better life. Kate Pryde stayed in the reality and she died on a suicide mission in an explosion.

does anyone know what the New x-men Academy is about?????
from an interview with one of the creators:
"“The basic idea is Mutant High,” DeFilippis said. “Kids in high school with mutant abilities. But unlike our run on New Mutants, these kids have the expectation of being future X-Men thrust upon them. It's still a school, but the training is now required.”
New mutants in training to be the next generation of X-Men. Though this is the direction that the kids are heading to in the new book, hence the change in the comic’s title to reflect this, Weir said that it was on the strength of their outline for the third arc of New Mutants and artist Randy Green’s designs that Marvel re-evaluated the book. “The idea of turning New Mutants into New X-Men is an attempt to pull our book closer to the center of things."
