I know my opinion does not mater but what the hell i'm going to say it any way. Manson is a FREAK!!!!!!!! Yes and i read all the other pathetic posts on his humor, his inteligence, his being a nice guy so on and so forth. But i have to say this no measure of inteligence humor or quality of personality is great enough to justify the way LOOKS! I mean you have to ask your self when its just too much. I mean what are we supose to justify how things look just because they have the ability to look smart and funny! I mean you have to question his sanity if he's willing to dress like that.
So whats your point DR you would justify dressing like that just as a cheap gimmick to get ppl to buy his products. Must be a worst musician than i thought if he's that desperate he's wiling to look like that just too get some attention. All i'm saying is that Manson crosses the line where ppl can be superficial or not. Even you Darth Revan have to agree that you judge people based on superficial qualities on a daily basis.

The way he dresses isn't a "cheap gimmick". Furthermore, he's a hell of a lot better than a lot of other crappy pop singers... I've watched a few episodes of "the ashlee simpson show", and she can't even sing in tune. No, he doesn't have a good voice, but first of all, he has a point to what he's doing... Second, he can write good lyrics. Yes, most of his songs are about sex and drugs and rock and roll and all that shit.. But look at "The Last Day on Earth".
Also... I really don't see what's so bad about his appearence, maybe I've just gotten used to him, but I don't think he looks that weird.
What you said before DR about people being superficial is true i agree that today's society is becoming superficial. They attack what they don't understand. But there comes a point when people have no choice but to stop liking something because of the way it looks. (1) He resorts to looking like that wierd and all just to attract people meaning that he has a limited musical ability or none at all. (2) Either he's natuaraly insane or he's on something if he's wiling to look at himself in the miror like that every day! Revan just think about what i'm trying to say Manson is a threat to everything advanced socity teaches us. What is right what is wrong. No longer matters because of people like him. Is his music realy needed do people today need his MESSAGE. Thinks about what i'm trying to say then post. And Orlando guy if your not satanic then why the hell knowing that would you listen to his music.
His message isn't "kill people, have sex, and do lots of drugs". It's deeper than that. His message isn't all that bad, it's just severely, severely misunderstood. His idea is several things:
1) Christianity isn't a bad religion, but Christians are almost more often than not hypocrites. The first of the Ten Commandments is "don't kill", but Christians kill anyways. Manson doesn't advocate violence--he's brought that up a lot of times in interviews and things.
2) The reason he looks so weird purposefully is because a) he wants people to try to get past his exterior, and actually think about what he's saying, and b) his image does attract attention... But it's not because he has "no musical ability". Once people know who he is, theoretically they'll listen to his music. He's not the first person to do that, you know. Ever heard of Slipknot, or Alice Cooper, or even Kiss for that matter?
3) That censors have gone too far. That was his original idea when he first started his professional career. He refuses to censor any of his songs, and if they don't get radio/TV play, screw it. And he's right that censors have gone too far. ie if there's a song about sex, you can tell what it's about regardless of how many "dirty words" you censor.
And yes, people do need his message, because society today is too goddamn afraid of offending other people. Manson isn't a "threat". I listen to his music, and I never feel the urge to kill anybody, or even go out and have sloppy drunk sex... Like I said before, he doesn't want everybody to go out and be like him. He doesn't even care if people listen to what he has to say 100% of the time.
And finally... If you did some research on the Church of Satan, you would find that it's not nearly as bad as it's cracked up to be. If the definition of "Satanism" is devil worship, the CoS isn't even Satanism.

(2) People have to look satanic just so we can no them better on the "inside". (3) Censors don't matter, and we should not give a damn if we offend other people by promoting killing, sex, drugs. O and Revan the first commandment is'nt to not kill its love god and your felllow man. Also i never said his music makes people want to kill others. What meant that he's a threat is that his message makes people accept violence, and drugs as something that is not wrong at all. Predator... Sounds like you haven't heard any other modern music. If you haven't noticed, Manson is FAR from the only one who desensitizes people to violence. Furthermore, so few people actually listen to his music, that it's not going to have an affect on society on a whole. I'd say there are more people who hate him (there's something out of the bible, love your fellow man, that people don't obey) than who listen to his songs.
And yes, Manson's message is partially that Christians are hypocrites, and he's right in a lot of cases.
He never even implies that people have to look satanic in order to see them better on the inside. That's just what works for him to draw attention to himself.
He doesn't "promote" killing, sex, and drugs. Just because he has those lyrics in his songs doesn't mean he promotes it. And IMO it's a good thing that somebody famous is finally realizing that being afraid of offending people is a problem.
Sorry about that commandment thing, but even if it's not the first one, you're supposed to obey ALL of them. Also, like it or not, Manson is one of our fellow humans, so theoretically we should love him too.

Well i have to hand it to you Revan you do your research pretty well. But as a final post to end the debate and then you and all your other friends can go back to talking about Manson and what ever you like. Just to close up some loose ends. (1) Manson is right in one of his messages christians are often hypocrites and not only them but every one at some point in their lives. Even me, so i believe apolgies are in order for aini for calling her a pathetic yes man. (2) I never said i hate manson to the core. Revan if you look at other posts on the thread other members have said Manson deserves to be shot on site or locked up. All i was trying to aim for is that his message is wrong on a purely moral level. No Manson may not promote violence, sex, drugs but in a way Revan iam sure even you notice that it contributes to a sense of moral complacency. (3) Yes iam familiar with all other groups, ect. who have the same message as he does. (4) Aini as for the name persona i take on the forum Predator 89 merely reflects my interest in science fiction and action films. Its just a name nothing more. Revan i just need one question awnswered why is not offeding people a problem?
