It's a problem because first of all, it's impossible to go through life without offending somebody. The world is such a diverse place, with so many different races, religions, and special interest groups, that if you went through the dictionary and censored every word that might offend somebody or other, it would really narrow down your choices. That hasn't happened yet, fortunately, but that's where we're heading. You ever read Fahrenheit 451? It's about a world in the future where books are illegal because they don't want to piss anybody off with what they say. Maybe it sounds far-fetched, but IMO that's where the world is heading.

I never said i is possible to censor everything that might set off another religion, race, or special interest group. No one can ever pull that off. What i meant is that people should just use more common sence if you know that saying something is going to set people off than just dont say it. If you have differences settle them in a civil way. That was what i meant.

Well, it sounds nice... But if everybody thought that way, then nobody would be able to say what they really thought. There is always going to be somebody who disagrees with you, so why bother trying to "settle differences" with people? It's impossible.

I find it hard to think ANYONE could think Manson is one of the best singers ever. And I automatically discredit everyone who says so.
