Quanchi does the same phenomena. Enough butthurt over a character will cause him to do a 180* in a different thread. This is how you know you got to them.

eg Dr Manhattan v Hogwarts. After Quanchi's humiliating defeat in the US Military v Wizards thread, he went back into the Dr Manhattan thread and changed sides, so he could continue wanking his wizards.
