Video Shows Jordan Saying Trump Will Announce Run After Lying About It
On Thursday night, Lauren Windsor of The Undercurrent reported that Representative Jim Jordan told her at an event in Iowa that Donald Trump will announce a presidential run "any day now."
Windsor's report was swiftly denied by a spokesperson for Jordan, who told Politico, "Not true. Mr. Jordan did not say this." But now we have learned there are tapes.
Jim Jordan caught lying again, this time on tape. But what kind of integrity would you expect from someone who covers up the sexual abuse of minors?
Christie Urges Republicans to Break with Trump and 2020 Election Lies
On Thursday, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, an erstwhile ally of Donald Trump, tore into the ex-president's political movement and baseless claims of election fraud, urging the Republicans to break with "the conspiracy theorists and the truth deniers" in their ranks.
Christie said during an appearance at the Ronald Reagan Library that the GOP needs to "face the realities of the 2020 election and learn, not hide, from them," urging fellow Republicans to "discredit the extremists in our midst."
Christie also took aim at what is perceived as a cult of personality around Trump, arguing nobody is "worthy of blind faith or obedience," regardless of "what office they've held or wealth they've acquired," urging the GOP not to "tie our future to a pile of lies."
59% of Republicans: Believing Trump Won is Important
A new poll finds that a majority of Republicans think that believing Donald Trump won in 2020—which he did not—is an important tenet for being a Republican. The poll, released on Sunday, finds the Republicans polled almost evenly divided between whether Trump should be the nominee in 2024.
The poll also includes a list of items for people in both parties to say how important it is to what being a Republican or Democrat means to them.
One of the beliefs listed for Republicans is the false assertion Trump won in 2020. 59 percent believe that to be an important part of being in the GOP. 36 percent said it was "very important," 23 percent said "somewhat important," 15 percent said "not too important," and 25 percent said "not at all important."
Poll: 47% of GOP Voters Would Back Trump in Primary
Among the GOP voters who do not want to see Trump run again, early loyalties appear split between former Vice President Mike Pence (26-percent) and Florida Goveronr Ron DeSantis (20-percent).
Overall, the survey found that Trump remains the GOP front-runner by a wide margin, with support from 47-percent of the party's electorate—roughly in line with the 50-percent support he secured in an average of four other 2024 presidential primary polls conducted since he lost to Biden in November.
The survey also tested the strength of Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Florida Senator Rick Scott, and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, all of whom received backing from at most 1-percent of Republican voters.
Trump running in 2024 is going to be such a blow to so many GOP sycophants (eg Cruz and DeSantis) who sucked his dick thinking they'd earn his endorsement and the votes of his cult in 2024.
Said it before, but the 2024 Republican primary is going to be even more hilarious than it was in 2016, seeing these people once again turn on Trump as they claw for the nomination.
The only way they can defeat him in the primary is if they all consolidate behind one candidate. It will not be Pence if Trump is running, so their only hope is DeSantis.
That's not going to happen, imo, well over 3/4ths of them are wrapped in the Trump cult themselves and the rest are too chicken shit cowardly to speak out in fear of getting kicked off the merry-go-round.
eg Look what happened to Paul Ryan when he said the GOP needs to abandon Trumpism and go back to its salad days, the stylized Reagan years. He was shunned (again). Liz Cheney is another, the short-list goes on.
edit: Trump's cult has been methodically culling all those who will not fall in line since January,
Donald Trump said Wednesday that Republicans should not vote in the midterm and general elections until supposed voter fraud in the 2020 election is "solved."
"If we don't solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in '22 or '24. It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do," Trump's statement read.
The November 2022 midterm elections will see 34 Senate seats and all 435 House of Representatives seats contested. Then, 2024 will be the next presidential election. Trump has not said definitively whether he will run again.
SURVEY: 10% of GOP Voters to Sit Out 2022 GA Election
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has supported exhaustive audits of the 2020 results to look for evidence of voting irregularities that repeated reviews have failed to produce. Still, she has told colleagues that she was surprised by a recent survey of Republican voters in her district.
The internal survey found that 5-percent of Republican voters said they would sit out the 2022 election if the state of Georgia did not conduct a forensic audit of the 2020 election—a demand that some of Trump's hard-core supporters have made. Another 4-percent said they would consider sitting out the election absent an audit.
The possibility that nearly 10-percent of Republicans could sit out any election—even one in a solidly red district like the one held by Ms. Taylor Greene—was something Republican strategists said they found alarming.
Can't wait for the inevitable "Donald Trump is secretly a Democrat agent trying to undermine the Republican vote in the upcoming election" conspiracy theory.
