Batman freshly transported to the Egyptian past by the omega beams which many in the DC universe believe killed batman.
he is found and hidden by Princess Nephri she has fallen in love with batman and believes him to also be a God like Kang the Conquer or the strange slave boy who has challenged the pharoah truly she lives in the age of wonder.
her heart is torn between the slave boy known as En Sabah Nur and her new growing luv between the dark mysterious stranger with the totem of the bat.. perhaps the underworld god...
Batman is kind to her and has started to communicate with her and knows that he has bn sent to the ancient past. He has allowed her to think of him as a god since it is to complicated and the words dont exist to explain what has happen to him..
Batman knows she is a palace prisoner and hopes to not interfere with history. the princes has explained that there are other gods that have bn beaten and imprison by the pharaoh Rama-Tut.
one of the gods is like water he can twist,stretch and change shape..
the other is a god of the mountain his flesh is like rock and has the strength of a giant...
one is the son of Ra has complete control of sun Fire and can fly..
the Woman goddess can move things with her mind and make things and her self disappear ... she thinks she is the goddess of light..
batman intrigued ask more questions she say Rama tut is also a god from the sky who has fallen from the stars in the sphinx statue.
she thinks he is an evil powerful god who refuses to return to the stars...
she tells him of the slave boy who does not fear the gods nor the pharaoh and the Pharaoh himself fears the boy.. he says he will become the ultimate survivor and bringer of death to the world one day...
Batman has rested enough and has decided to confirm her stories believing these being may all posses technology to help him return to his own time. he has agreed to take the princess with him. sneaking in the palace he has come across palace guards who are under attack by En Sabah Nur.
En Sabah Nur has return to rescue the princess and kill the pharaoh. he turns to see the strange man in the bat totem armor costume.. Angry he turns to lock eyes with the princess, she screams in revulsion and fear at his exposed face the rags no longer hiding his features due to the skirmish...
angry he yells at her saying he had come for her and now she calls him demon and monster while she runs off with another who is no more a god then Rama tut.. he knows their secret and he will kill the "batman" not a batgod and leave her alone with nothing but her ignorance and fear to the unknown to comfort her in old age and in death...

i was setting the background mood. also that was what was happening at the time in comics... Rama tut had imprisoned the FF and was also fighting Apoxy lips during his free time. he had a lot on his schedule...
but no FF are not in the fight they are imprisoned.
He was essentially a combination of the Hulk and Atom Smasher before the celestial tech upgrades. If memory serves, he even had some low end energy projection, telekinesis, and telepathy.
When he received the Celestial Tech components they mixed with his body and enhanced what he had, plus gave him the techno-organic shapeshifting abilities (he became cybernetic, and took on a slew of tech based powers like teleporting, forcefields, etc.) and exponentially increased his energy manipulation . The Celestial enhancements are a part of his being at this point, like Thanos's cybernetic enhancements, just not to the same degree.
Apoxy lips only grew to about 15 ft in height and mass to kill a giant anaconda with his bear hands... his strength was not that great at least not to what we are used to seeing in the modern comic world..
he could have easily bn 2 to 5 ton range in strength for that feat not so much stronger that Batman couldnt fight him and take some hits...
also Apoxy didnt have TP or TK this early in his comic career. it was just mass manipulation and slight HF, immortality... he has not yet merged or learned from rama tuts ship...
