This is a Respect Thread for the original classic Hyperion from the Squadron Supreme. I wanted to start a new thread since the old one has 3 pages of stuff from other Hyperions in it. This is one IS ONLY FOR CLASSIC HYPERION. Also, help would be appreciated.

But great work. I wanted one of these like this at HC.
Edit: Also when he took on Supreme Power Hyperion. The SP one was even more weakened because he fell into the gunk that weakenes him. So its fair to say that classic was more powerful because of THAT.

There's no point in Hyperion, he's just a Superman ripoff.

In that case, there's no point to any comic character, including Supes, because they draw on far more ancient archetypes that have existed for millenia.
But what Bentley said. Comment that aren't constructive somehow shouldn't appear in respect threads. If you have commentary on particular feats on character traits, fine, but opinionated bashing doesn't constitute constructive.
Umm...Hyperion is a ripoff. There's not really any way around it. I can't help it if this character has no worth or merit in any way. He was actually created as a deliberate, intentional, obvious ripoff because Marvel wanted to have their own Justice League (Why? I have no idea). Why have Hyperion, the ripoff, when you can go read about Superman, the original (admittedly actually a ripoff of Captain Marvel, but most people don't care about that I think)? They both suck but I'd rather read about the guy who's not the ripoff.

You contradicted your own logic by calling Superman a ripoff. Besides, people can read whomever they choose, and do so for a variety of reasons. Your opinion doesn't make it fact. Nor did you address my point that by this logic, no comic character should be read.
But I was serious about limiting the spam. See that it stops or it'll end in an official warning.
I just can't believe this. Saying what I think magically becomes "spam". It becomes "spam" because I disagree with you? Give me a break. I'm not allowed to have my own opinion? It involved no racism, no flaming, no "hot" stuff that could start a big argument, and no insult-throwing, but it's "spam" because you don't like the idea of someone disagreeing with you. Who did I offend? You, by my believing something that isn't what you believe? I never said people can't or shouldn't read Hyperion (even though there's no point). And Superman being a ripoff doesn't matter because people don't consider him to be. I already non-contradicted myself by pointing out that in all likelihood no one cares if Superman is a ripoff because he's a lot more popular than Captain Marvel. And your point about how logic this-and-that means no character should be read is what doesn't make any sense. Sad is the day when you can be banned for disagreeing with someone.

I like Hyperion BECAUSE he is based on Superman. Characters like Hyperion and Gladiator give writers a chance to explore angles that wouldn't otherwise be open.
This is not about agreeing or not, this is about actually reading the statement in this forum that says "you will not bash characters in the respect threads". Reading and respecting rules: That's tech.
You are free to voice your concerns about the character... I don't know, in another forum (not where respect is supposedly given)?
