Who can out-wit Captain James T. Kirk!??
Who can defeat Captain James Tiberius Kirk on the starship Enterprise in a ship to ship battle in the vicinity of the gas giant Jupiter?
In this senario, his opponent is the captain on a vessel of equal capability and equal crew strength/ability set; no super human powers or abilities can be used...nor can the tech of either vessel be enhanced in any way.
This is a battle of pure cunning and tactical ability; whoever destroys his opponents ship 1st wins...
His opponents are (in no particular order and this is not a gauntlet):
1) Reed Richards...
2) Tony Starks...
3) Batman...
4) Thanos...
5) The Grandmaster...
6) Superman...
7) Dasaad...
8) Doctor Doom...
9) Lex Luthor...
10) Brainiac...
Who here beats Captain Kirk? Who here loses to him?

All the opponents can't use their powers or modify the ship. So it's pure wit and negotiation.
I think Kirk beats everyone due to being the best Captain of an Alliance Starship of his era.

I don't think even Batman can win this one.

Anyone with access to a bridge or bridge related construct defeats Kirk.

I don't see Kirk getting past Batman, if only because Richards and Stark are more smart smart and not tactics smart.
Why are Desaad and Superman so high on the list though?

The list isnt in any particular order...
And, as pertains Batman, I think that even though he is cunning enough and tactically capable of beating Kirk in these circumstances, I think Kirk still gets the win due to his superior knowledge (and experience) in ship to ship combat...

Kirk also tends to win thanks to his massive, soul crushing plot armor.

Richards keeps Doom in check. You don't do that by not being "tactically smart" as well as scientifically smart.

No he doesn't.
That's the problem.

I think you meant to say Jean-Luc Picard is the best Captain.

Kirk never struck me as all that brilliant. Not stupid or anything, but it seemed like his bravado, luck, and guile won him most of his battles.
Picard would be better for this, he's an actual master strategist/tactician.
He possibly stops at Tony. Definitely stops at Batman.

Are there ladies among the crews here? Of course there are, there always are in Star Trek.
Kirk's crew just grew. Not even Tony can do anything about that.
