This fight won't get well for MM; judging from the picture he is going to have trouble as soon as he tries to stand up. A cape is not a rug.

Except he wouldn't stand up, rather he would levitate, possibly in intangible form too. And he could assimilate the cape as it is just an extension of his body.

From what I remember he did get burned up in the sun, but was brought back by the white light thingy. However, he didn't just burst into flames like some silly vampire movie, it took some time apparently.
