Nod to Mrmind which would you rather be a Kryptonian, Martian or Eternal
Unlike Mr Mind post, the Kryptonian vs Sayans the abilities are somewhat different. Kryptonians, Martians & Eternals have very similar abities. lets look at the plus & minus.
Kryptonians- will have the easiest time developing their powers and of the 3 races will have them at the highest lvl.
weakness: Kryptonite & magic
Martians- simply put are the swiss army knife version of the superhero community, think of a power the probably have it in spades.
weakness: Fire, the easiest substance to get in any universe. DC, Marvel or real
world.
Eternals-they potentially can equal even surpass a Martian in the number of powers, but you have to spend time to develop your powers. Otherwise you're basically a low tier superhero.
weakness: It takes them several hundred yrs of training to become very powerful if not thousands of yrs. This is the main reason which tend to makes them specialist which doesn't take as much time. They tend to be either super-strong, super-fast or have incredible transmutative abilities or TP. Thanos, Ikaris, Makkari and for a little while Hyperion are considered Eternals which gives some measuring stick of their potentials. Hyperion is the only 1 who became powerful in less than several hundred yrs but IIRC Marvel reconnected the fact that he was an Eternal from an alternate Universe away.
May not be as strong as a high level Kryptonian, but strong enough to effortlessly crumple main battle ranks like wet tissue paper (and one of the strongest in the JLA).
May not be as fast as Flash, but in JLA Tower of Babel required the Flash and Wonderwoman to stop him when he was running at high Mach across state lines while on fire.
Invulnerable to any weapon (apart from fire - not just any fire, but apparently retconned to fire with ill intent). Shoot him, bash him, crush him ...nothing doing.
Can fly.
Has heat vision and a form of force breath.
Basically, can simulate some Kryptonian powers.
Then it gets interesting ...
Can read every mind on earth. He will know what he needs to know when he needs to know. In JLA Trial by Fire he literally read every mind in the world while trying to find out what the Burning was (should have checked inside first)
Can influence every mind of earth (from ‘smile at me’ to ‘launch a nuclear weapon at North Korea’). In the real world the ability to influence minds would probably be the most powerful weapon really.
He can turn invulnerable. Unlike Kryptonians who can simulate invisibility by vibrating very fast (without creating a buzzing noise for some reason), with Jjon’s powers you could turn properly invisible.
Density manipulation ...you can play with your inner Vision by becoming either super dense or going the other way and being able to walk through walls/floors/ceilings. Basically, going Casper.
You can change your form. Become Trump and go chasing a she-goat in front of cameras. Anything you want.
In the real world, definitely MM’s powers. Gives you a good level of the strengths that a high level Kryptonian would, but then gives you other abilities as well.
And no need to spend a millennium at Eternal Academy learning how to use them ...
Shape shifting and TP seals the deal for me.
Intangibility is the counter for fire.
In the real world I can just mind rape everyone.
I would .... all the pretty women I want.
IIRC Eternals do get old like the Asgardians it just takes them thousands of yrs, as for disease the Etenals do get disease called Mahd Wyry which drives them mad. Once you get that disease other Eternals must kill you to stop you from spreading to other Eternals.
Finally while it varies by some writers over all Kryptonians are effectively immortals as long as they have yellow sun radiation, even on Krypton the average lifespan was over 1000 yrs. As for disease SM is efffectively completely immune to all poison & disease as long as he's supercharged with solar radiation.
Scans? I call bullshit because in all my years of reading comics, I have never come across this, but I will reserve judgment.
Kryptonian's sometimes have decelerated ageing, but outside of rare instances such as Superman Prime (853rd century isn't anything in the grand scheme of things tbh), I don't recall many instances of them being immortal. I guess you can count Doomsday because he doesn't seem to age and he is of Krypton.
P.S. Asgardian's do not have eternal youth like Eternals, but they are immortal, in the sense that they live forever, and do not suffer from degenerative diseases. A lot like Saiyans in that regard.
I no longer have my Eternal comics with me so I can't prove th old age function. But as for the disease here the link from Marvel database, https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Eternals_(Homo_immortalis)
Everyone here is acting like immortality is something Martians don't have. Post-crisis J'onn was over 235 million years old, and was still kicking well into the future.
Kryptonian
Though mostly because I think martian weakness to fire is inconvenience.I mean when I cooking,I really don't want to thinking what should I do to prevent I been hurted by fire
