Why should we explain hate? Hate is stupid and mostly motivated by fear. It's almost never interesting.
I think that defining one's identity by who you'd rather sex with is sort of a misplaced reasoning. When you sleep with a man or a woman you don't "become gay", you're just engaging in a sexual relationship. People use the world gay to divide themselves from other people. It might as well be marketing.
What is it with people in gay threads and stupid assertions?
"Homophobes are likely closet f*ggots," "homophobes were likely molested." No. Neither of these conjectures make sense. In fact, a closet f*g—someone who jerks off to gay porn behind closed doors—is far more likely to spread tolerance for homosexuality while denying his own sexual orientation.

It's probably an american thing, when logic bends backwards and what should be the rational side of the argument becomes nonsensical, it's almost always an american thing.
At least that's what I've learn from religion bias
Are you gay?
Have you ever been molested as a child?
Have you ever bashed someone for being a homosexual?
I've read enough cases of people arrested & convicted of bashing gay men where their defence was based on being abused as a child by a male & thus their hatred for them as perceived homosexuals.
Read up on the Snowtown murders in Australia.
It might be a stupid assertion simply because you & I are straight & (I'm assuming) not homophobic.
Even if a gay poster replied to this thread, there'd be alot of "straight" posters claiming to know better.
It's pretty hard to argue that they are the majority of the cases, which is the point Astner was trying to pass. As such, it is ridiculous to cite such situations as the norm to explain all homophobic attitudes.
why not? I dont know a single non homophobic person in real life. That includes family friends, work, etc.
Im not a closet homosexual. I tried watching gay porn and it wasnt for me, even after get stimulated by straight porn. I get the same disgust I get while simply looking at a gay guy.
Heck, me just admitting that i tried gay porn should prove im not a closet homosexual...
Dont know where people got that idea from.
I know homophobic women who hate gay men so your telling me that makes them gay too?

2) Anecdotal evidence of anti-gay politicians, religious heads etc being caught sucking cock in public restrooms and the like, leads us to believe that 'if you make a career of hating on gays, you're probably a self-loathing closeted gay yourself'.
-Not being hateful
-Not being closeminded
-Not being a bigot
Why did you "try watching gay porn"?
Nah, you probably are gay or bi and hate it; why you so vehemently bash on homosexuals; when homosexuality probably hasn't done anything harmful to you.
That probably just makes them bigoted, small-minds. Do they and you also have a problem with lesbians?
