I like thanos, i feel like AW is the low end of those team-ups, thanos is always saving his ass.

Actualy, there is one exception to who the soul gem can absorb. Other bearers of the soul gem.

When Warlock was fighting with Magus, his future self, he tried all kinds of soul tricks, which were utterly ineffective.

Most of what I used for the tourney came directly from this thread, but I also have a decent number of Warlock comics of my own. Here's a few things that I'm relatively sure aren't on page 1.

Fighting the clone of Galactus that Thanos had spliced with his own DNA. Not really a Warlock feat, just a cool moment.

This is a very hardcore fight with a robot. I know, a robot�no big deal. But this same robot had taken down every other member of the Infinity Watch with ease, including Drax and Gamora. And Warlock is simply fierce in this fight.

Evidence that Warlock is actually a telepath. He has some impressive psy-defenses, and soul powers, but has never really used telepathic powers much.

What are you talking about... She's talking to Thanos in that comic.

I'm sure this is Warlock, or if it isn't it's because I completely read it wrong. It may take a while for me to find the issue again, but I'll try yo find the whole thing. But on the next page Warlock's speaking with her telepathically while he's on his knees from a blast from Magus.

Warlock's always had an air of mysticism about him. At a certain point it almost makes sense that a writer would take the easy way out and start calling it magic, rather than the detailed explanations they use to give for some of his powers (and non-existent explanations for others).

Same character though. I always thought of him as being as close to magic as traditional powers anyway. It seems inevitable (to me, at least) that he'd slip into overt magic at some point.

But yeah, the old stuff isn't. No sense in confusing the two.
