non-affiliate.
yeah...ok then...if you say so...
lets take what the site says
Kerrang!, the world's biggest selling weekly rock magazine... on-line!
obviously a non affiliate then eh?
you might also remember that NME were backing the strokes many months before they were commercially successful...as they do with many other bands...just cause you dont read it...dont make it any less true
all it proves is that NME can pick bands that they think will "make it big"...and are often right...
aint their fault that metal doesn't get any mainstream recognition is it?...but i'm guessing you prefer it that way
It says Radiohead 2nd doesn't it? Two albums after NME rubbished them into the ground saying they'd never outlive Creep and would be gone in a couple years.
NME said...or one of the writers from NME said?
opinions...like assholes they are...apparently
yeah...spiritulized and primal scream...there just such internationally known bands aint they...bigger than U2 they are.

they're allright, but regarding soft rock, Kings of convenience beats everyone.
the unicorns have this weird sounds that can be very stressing at times, but every now and then they make a kickass song.
Les Sans Culottes are cool, they have cool songs although everythign's in french, and Electrelane is pretty good as well.
Good indie stuff, ppl, good stuff.

That's the site, not the TV station to which you just referred to. The site is a vehicle for bits of news and the messageboard.
Sort out your issues. First you quote the TV station, I show you that it's irrelevant. You drastically switch to the site. I do the same. All the while dodging the publication which I've already proven to be vastly better and less about who's popular than NME.

Like it was said. Magazines backing bands, who would have known? The issue is, who is the more trend, media hype driven magazine? The answer, undeniably unless you're simple, is NME. As proven.

Whatever happened to Radiohead? Bloody one hit wonders. Oh wait, went on to be one of the best British rock bands of all time. What did NME say? That they'd never outlive Creep (a general agreement among most of the writers who mocked Radiohead for alot of the following years). What happened when OK Computer came out? Begged Thom Yorke to go do an interview.

What a way to prove my point.
Kerrang cover bands regardless of recognition.

Kerrang cover bands regardless of recognition.
no...kerrang is a metal magazine...it covers metal bands
NME is a predominantly indie magazine...it covers indie bands
and if were talking about influence...why is it that despite kerrang constant "bigging up" of metal acts...and the fact that you claim they are far better and have far more musical knowledge and integrity than NME...do hardly any of the bands they talk of go onto be chart toppers?

actually no...there is a link to tv section of the site...the awards section isn't it

Fast learner.
Kerrang put System of a Down on their cover when they were virtually unknown to these shores. Why? Because they love the band. Not because they were the in thing.

Because how many people bought your CD doesn't equate to how good you are does it? Charts are a way of measuring who's selling well. Kerrang aren't about hitmakers. NME are. Once again, point being proven.
Jaden, I'd have expected you to know this.

Yes because as I said, the site is a vehicle for the messageboard and random updates of events in the music world. It doesn't dedicate coverage. It's like a giant bullitin board for those interested and it just so happens, that SOME people DO get an interest in Kerrang through the TV station. That can't be helped.
What I do find amusing is how your replies are getting shorter and shorter, less and less relevant and you're still trying to go as far off topic as possible.
What magazine is the more media driven, trend focused magazine? Kerrang or NME? NME. Proven with an insurmountable amount of evidence.

So you name 6 bands out of the entire publication of NME, to attempt to disprove the amount of evidence I've provided, despite it being factual and despite me already saying that I didn't doubt NME cover bands that aren't known?
They do. But again, the issue is (last time) who is the more media driven, trend following magazine? The answer is NME.
Yes Jaden, I love The Strokes. I feel they're unfortunate to get the treatment they have from NME, but I love the band.
