Who Is Faster, Superman or the Flash?

Started by Vaiem18 pages

In the Marvel vs. DC Comics, Flash was shown to be only about as fast as Quicksilver. Juggernaut has been able to keep pace with Quicksilver, but Superman easily caught Juggernaut and beat him down in the same crossover. That would make Superman fast than Flash by the law of A > B, A > C.

Except that:

A. That crossover was non-canon

B. As per JLA/Avengers, there is no speedforce in the Marvel universe, so Flash was significantly weakened

Flash is and will always be faster then Superman, he can tap into the SpeedForce. It might seem that he is only an second faster then Superman but considering the speed they move at, a second is a lot of time 😉.

Flash is faster.

Flash is way faster.

Anyone who has basic knowledge on these characters would know that Flash is faster.

Why does this thread have so many pages ?

Common isn't it obvious? Superman admits that when they race he always know Flash is holding back and Superman still can't beat him.

flash of course.

Flash is faster on land. but Superman is faster if he's flying. Flash can't fly obviously.

The reason this thread exist is because of Superman fans; and DC's past stories. Fans don't want to believe Superman can be beat in anything, and past stories have shown Supes flying faster than light. It was once stated that Superman could take a picture of himself by clicking a camera and hoping in front of the flash before it goes off. So he has moved faster than light, but the Flash's top speed is light. Dc has since rewrote cannon to give the title to the Flash as the fastest man alive, but Supes fans still give him the nod.

No we don't - Superman is faster than light but Flash is even faster

The Flash's can run faster than light, but by doing so he is absorbed by the Speed Force, I have a JLA book in which Superman states, " I'm not faster than light." Adam Strange then tells him, "I know that is why the Flash is going to lend you his speed." The Flash then responds, "Since your body is stronger than mine you can push the light barrier, here you go I'm not holding back anything." He then transfers his ability to Superman who flies faster than light to save Adams wife. No incarnation of the Flash has ever been able to exceed light speed without the Speed Force pulling them in. DC comics has stated that THE FLASH IS THE FASTEST MAN ALIVE, not Superman. End of story.

That was about 20 years ago, before he got over his mental blocks and such. Flash has also improved - he's been far past lightspeed without getting absorbed.

The Flash is the fastest character in comics. Period.

However, the Zeta beam is no standard light. It's way, way, wayyyyyy faster.

Supes has been ftl for a while now.

Flash

Pre-Crisis Superman was faster than Barry Allen.

Only sometimes. It was kind of inconsistent.

I can't help but to chuckle at the people that haven't read comics in over a decade and still think they have an informed opinion of the characters.
