he held that shit for 174 days
[no clicky you filthy tease] But in all seriousness, that guy's...skills....put one of the industries greatest (Bret Hart) out of commission. In the lockerroom he was notoriously known to be a so called "stiff". A person with very little sense for timing and cooperation in the ring, which eventually cost the Hitman his career.
Ultimate Fighting...... Pffffttttt
They're talking about staged wrestling, which has more to do with dramatic effect than "struggle for position"; you're referring to either free-style or folk-style wrestling: A Greek-originated martial art that is really more about control. The thing about wrestling, even more than Jiu Jitsu, is that you can be trapped, stuck, exhausted, yet you still have to fight out of that position. It's the most grueling martial art there is, it's like the slow death whereas loosing because you get hit more, or because your opponent got a good pressure lock, is the quick and easy way out. Of course striking sports, namely boxing, do a lot more damage than wrestling. It's still physically less grueling in the moment, and wrestlers cut for lighter weight-classes a lot more often than boxers as well. Catabolism is no way to live.
