"That help would indeed be welcomed," says Arvedui, "but I must proceed one step at a time. First, Cardolan. The scattered Lords and rulers of that once great Kingdom must be persuaded to accept me as King. They will be suspicious. They is historical hatred between us, as I have described. I may say and say again that this is not about political power for me, but about unifying against the Witch-King, but they may not listen.

"So, I have gathered people- people such as yourself- to my cause. Outsiders who can vouch for the genuine nature of my cause. Men from all aprts of the world, Dwarves, Hobbits, and Elves like yourself, just as I one day envisage for the Grand Alliance. I plan for them to go to Cardolan and act as a demonstration of my good faith, to convince them of the need to unite.

"Tomorrow I am sending an expedition of thse people and two of my Lords to the Fortress of Baronar, in Cardolan, where the Lord Baronar has created some semblance of civilisation. He is interested in my plan- I need only for him to be convinced of my good faith, and the first step of my plan will be done. Baronar is respected in Cardolan; others are sure to follow. But he MUST be convinced!

"Some parts of the journey may be perilous, I can only request this of you. I understand you have met some of the others who are going already. Will you go?"

when I find the time, I go and get some stuff I will need for my assignment, like things to write with and on

Yup, that's all easy enough...

Phoenix will be joining you folks soon, of cours.e

"I will, my lord. You have my sworn word."

"Excellent!" says Arvedui. "The deputation leads tomorrow morning, led by my Chancellor, Lord Gorlim. He will tell you the route you are taking. Please, accept the hospitality of this palace and my city, and make whatever preperarions you wish."

Ok, Phoe, you can now band together with all the other players who are preparing to go, and all the rest of you can meet Aiwendil! Say hi, she is pretty...

Aiwendil bowed, touching her fingertips to chest lips and heart, as a symbol of the greatest respect.

*still gathering stuff:rope, arrows, checking knifes and bow, something for makeing fire, and other surviving gear...*

right..me too..getting ready for the trip

Aiwendil returns to the inner keep, seeking to introduce herself to the companions of this trip.

after packing my gear I strole around the courtyard, with Emoras. easily talking to the horse (dunno wether it understands me but that doesn't matter)

Oops! Meant to get that map done today... sorry, got up at 2pm and have had SO much to do... tomorrow, I promise!

In any case, it is the next morning, and you people are preparing to go!

Can I ask which of you are taking horses? Lords Gorlim and Annphor are saddling up.

"Got any ponies?" Talin asks, looking up at the big horses.

"Same for me, thank you," William pipes up.

OFCOURSE I'm taking Emoras

It so happens they do have ponies, Talin and William! Fornost occasionally trades with the Dwarves and if Hobbits ever enter Arthedain it is to talk over something with the King, so Arvedui has provisions for such people.

it's kinda weird for some to take horses and some not, bacause in this way the advantage of haveing horses is 0.I'll take a horse if everybody else takes one.by the way Ush, the 90 men that are coming with us are with horses also ?

50. Yes, they will be mounted, though they are not Knights.

Ok, Gorlim wants to extend his courteous welcome to all of you who are going on this trip; he wants a good show, no cock-ups, nice and smooth, and then EVERYONE can be happy...

He wishes to discuss the route to be taken over this map.

The plan is this- you will journey south along the road to Bree.

"Bit of a commoners town, is Bree," says Gorlim, "but friendly enough people. We can stay the night at the Prancing Pony, they have some good rooms."

Baronar, as you can see, is not far off the main road to the south. However, if the Dunlendings are going to attack anyone in this (relatively) safe part of Cardolan, it will be people on that road.

So instead, your group will divert through the Downs to the east of the Old Forest. There is absolutely NO reason for the Dunlendings to go there at all- there is nothing of value there for them, all that is beyond it is the forest (complete with legends of walking trees) and then the Shire, which is worthless even in Dunlending terms as far ar Gorlim is concerned (no offence to William, of course...). It also gives you an opportunity to pay your respect at the barrows of the deceased Cardolani Dunadain line, which will be good public relations to talk about once you get to Baronar.

Once through the downs, you will simply ride on a direct route to the fortress! Could not be easier!

"I'll take a horse," Anglomir says.

"so shall I.we should leave as fast as everybody is ready.." says Palanfirith.
