Caravan?

Gorlim and Annphor look at you distastefully.

Talin laughs out loud, but silences himself as Gorlim glares in his direction as well. He rides up alongside Argentis.

"So, what brought you on this journey? How come Zeratul is not going?"

(yes, the horse i'm on..i didn't know it's....default 🙂 )

((can elves meditate when riding?))

no

"As far as I know Zeratul felt like his wounds weren't healed properly so he asked me to fill in for him. Howevcer he is from Gondor and I'm from the Eotheod, so I will act out a different mission, not standing under gondorian command and the like."

Afraid not, Phoe; Elf meditiation is basically the same deal as sleep, only more advanced. It takes concentration to achieve.

"I just don't see why these outlying peasants are so keen to hld onto their farms..." muses Gorlim as you ride. "I mean, they only live in these dreadful little hovels anyway, easily moved and re-built elsewhere, then we can build more walls and things on their lands!"

"Exactly, exactly, quite so!" says Annphor, nodding vigourously.

That evening, you draw near Bree.

"Watch your purses," says Gorlim. "Bit of a tourist trap, is Bree. All sorts of the most disgraceful people! We'll all be staying at the Prancing Pony, unless any of you have any other plans?"

"Nope, the Prancing Pony sounds good to me," Talin says, nodding as vigorously as Lord Annphor. He is weary. "I don't suppose we'll need watch when we are in a hotel."

Nah, safe in Bree unless the Nazgul turn up in forcw which won't be for a good thousand years...

The Prancing Pony is much as it has been for all of its history and all of its future- dark, smoky, rowdy and fun. Gorlim pays for the room and baord of ALL of you, just about remembering not to call the innkeeper a peasant at the end of the sentence.

In Bree you have one final chance to buy supplies or anythinhg else before you enter Cardolan. Bree does not sell high-quakity weapons like Fornost but it does sell basic ones.

Other than that, I want to know

1. Who is staying sober and going to bed
2. Who is staying up drinking and revelling and having a good time with the soldiers and the locals
3. Who is skulking around elsewhere having a stroll or checking things out?

Aiwendil you, in particular, are not used to this close form of celebration and contact. And you do not like the rooms here.

I'll take a combo of two and three. 😉

I'm going for 2 but I mind myself that I do not drink TOO much

vardalain stays sober and goes to..meditate.
normally i'd have taken the taking out part...but seeing as i don't have time to come here as much with the school..

Gorlim and Annphor don't seem very interested in drinking with the locals so they have gone to their rooms.

Dwarves can take a loot of ale, Talin, so you are impressing, Some 'merry' (for which read very drunk) locals ask you, having slurred a lot about not getting many Dwarves around here, what it is you are doing here.

Ush is there a decent ambiance?

There is a very rowdy ambience...

I shout:"is there anyone who can make some music?"

I choose 3.Let's look around a bit....

There is almost certainly someone fiddling (as in play the fiddle... sigh...) in the background already, but you can turn things up a notch if you like- might have headaches in the morning though!

As it gets around that important visitors from Fornost are in town, more people are asking you guys where you are heading to.

It;s a cold night outside, Palanfirith. Very cold.

"I'm on a journey into Cardolan...a mining expedition...decided to rest here for the night." Talin says. "Not very interesting, really..."

They don't believe that for a second- travelling with two Lords out of Fornost? On a Mining Expedition? With ELVES as well?

"You're having us on!" they say. "At least tell us which way you are headed."
