Afraid not, Phoe; Elf meditiation is basically the same deal as sleep, only more advanced. It takes concentration to achieve.
"I just don't see why these outlying peasants are so keen to hld onto their farms..." muses Gorlim as you ride. "I mean, they only live in these dreadful little hovels anyway, easily moved and re-built elsewhere, then we can build more walls and things on their lands!"
"Exactly, exactly, quite so!" says Annphor, nodding vigourously.
That evening, you draw near Bree.
"Watch your purses," says Gorlim. "Bit of a tourist trap, is Bree. All sorts of the most disgraceful people! We'll all be staying at the Prancing Pony, unless any of you have any other plans?"
Nah, safe in Bree unless the Nazgul turn up in forcw which won't be for a good thousand years...
The Prancing Pony is much as it has been for all of its history and all of its future- dark, smoky, rowdy and fun. Gorlim pays for the room and baord of ALL of you, just about remembering not to call the innkeeper a peasant at the end of the sentence.
In Bree you have one final chance to buy supplies or anythinhg else before you enter Cardolan. Bree does not sell high-quakity weapons like Fornost but it does sell basic ones.
Other than that, I want to know
1. Who is staying sober and going to bed
2. Who is staying up drinking and revelling and having a good time with the soldiers and the locals
3. Who is skulking around elsewhere having a stroll or checking things out?
Aiwendil you, in particular, are not used to this close form of celebration and contact. And you do not like the rooms here.
Gorlim and Annphor don't seem very interested in drinking with the locals so they have gone to their rooms.
Dwarves can take a loot of ale, Talin, so you are impressing, Some 'merry' (for which read very drunk) locals ask you, having slurred a lot about not getting many Dwarves around here, what it is you are doing here.
There is almost certainly someone fiddling (as in play the fiddle... sigh...) in the background already, but you can turn things up a notch if you like- might have headaches in the morning though!
As it gets around that important visitors from Fornost are in town, more people are asking you guys where you are heading to.
It;s a cold night outside, Palanfirith. Very cold.
